Wretched Wednesday "Pass the distressing, please."

Image
This week we are sponsored by Smeared Ink They have offered up a very generous prize of a $15 digi shopping spree in their shop!  The Macabre Monday challenge this week is to use some sort of distressing on your project. Super duper easy, right?!   I chose this little candy corn monster to work with. He is so cute in a slobbery and chopped off head kinda way. I am in love with this guy. Or maybe it's just his little teefs. I used some distressed paper from a random Hallowe'en paper pack, I added a distressed bit of the cover from a TH Hallowe'en paper pack, and worked it over pretty good with a sanding block and the TH distressing tool. I think I like using scissors better. I added some cool webbed ribbon in green and black and even snuck in that bug ribbon that I bought last season and never managed to work it into a project. You still have until Sunday at 5PM, CST to enter to win a $15 digital shopping spree at Smeared Ink!!!

Image
It is Wednesday already, and I have two   toothy inspiration pieces for you!! Long in the Tooth is the challenge, and we are sponsored by Andrea has offered up a one of a kind sculpture to this week's winner. Check out this post for more info. First up, is the incredibly talented, Teri . Teri has used her gorgeous new image, La Rosa Muerta , which is available in her digi shop, Delicious Doodles . I toiled and scrapped a few projects before coming up with this card. I printed out some dental diagrams I found on Google images. I printed them onto kraft stock, colored the teeth with a white pastel pencil,  and then aged the panels with distress inks.  I used my favorite stamp from Paper Make Up Stamps called, Chomps . I think he's still available as a digi, but they no longer carry rubber. I added an "I Bite" sentiment and layered it onto a Spellbinder die cut.  I had to add some blood splatter to the sen

Slow poke Saturday reveal

Creepy G here with a really belated submission for our latest challenge, Hot as Hell in here!! This was a real challenge for me to even come up with this simple layout. I had mounds of grandiose plans for this gorgeous image from SimplyBStamps . I colored her up over a week ago, and then just kept pushing papers around for the last week. My mojo must be on hiatus.  Her name is Druscillia . She is quite magnificent. Somethin' about those horns... I struggled and I toiled over the sentiment for this card and finally settled on one I received from my dear friend, Catherine. Perfecto! I used real fire to burn the edges of the main image (yikes!), and then almost completely burned up the sentiment. I found it helpful to work over a sink and use a damp paper towel to douse the embers. You still have time to help fan the flames with us this week.  The deadline to enter is Sunday at 5PM CST.

Without further ado.....

Fiendishly Fun Friday: HDH132 Gothic Makeover

Image
As Summer is basically here, it makes me long for the cool, crisp evening air of Autumn and all that is dark and lovely.  However, HBO's True Blood is back in June with Season 5, so that is one of the FEW saving graces of Summer :)  And  since I'm already counting down to June 10th, I thought I'd go all vampish on a cute Saturated Canary digi:  Suzie Stockings   Me thinks I Goth'd her up just a bit.  I used Copic Toner Grays for the black, my favorite "dead" skin combo (BV23, BV20, C00), and for the red:  R39, R56, R37, R35.  The two papers are from Karen Foster, the glittery die-cut is from a LSS, May Arts bat trim, & who knows where the black heart brad came from :)  Did you notice I added a little rhinestone on her garter, too?  Love it. Her dress was really fun to color... all of those folds! The red is waaaay off in this photo.  Damn glitter & shimmery cardstock threw off the lighting. Krista with Saturated Canary is moving
