TI & SBS Trick or Treat Blog Hop

Image
Two great companies, one awesome hop :)  Christy & Betty just happen to be BIG Halloween fans, so guess what...  Yep, Tiddly Inks & Simply Betty Stamps decided to do a little swap hop... the TI DT worked with Simply Betty images, and the SBS gals got to play with Tiddly Inks images.  Should be fun! What's even better is that this hop will involve you , too!  Yes, you can do a little Trick or Treating with us and maybe score some gift vouchers to Tiddly Inks or Simply Betty Stamps!  How?  Simply go check out Christy's blog for all of the details... she's the one that is gonna kick this hop off :)  And if you've arrived from Angela's blog , you are on the right track! Now, here's the little twist to this hop, we were to create a Trick (a favorite technique) or a Treat (just a project to share) .  Well, I'm usually a trickster, but I decided to just go for the treat this time :)   I worked with TI's Betty Belfrey ... isn't she ...

HDH062 Smeared & Smudged and Stamp Insanity challenges...

Image
It's a Two-fer today!  Yep, I got a chance to color up a few images on Sunday & decided to make them into cards tonight.  I was just going to post my HDH062 Smeared & Smudged card for Smeared Ink , but I HAD to play along with the Stamp Insanity SISC32 pink challenge this week, too, so sit back and enjoy :)    First up, Smeared Ink's Wicked Witch .  LOVE her.  Very vintagey image... which is sooooo not me, but she was too fabulous to pass up!  I'm not loving the colors I used for the ruffled business around her neck, but I like the rest of it... especially how the sky & ground turned out :) Digi:   Wicked Witch (Smeared Ink);   Rubber Stamp:   So Splattered (retired TAC) Paper:   Bazzil & Caboodle white cs ;   Other:  Nesties, Scor-Bug , black lace, Noir Palette ink;   Copics:   BV02, BV04, BV08, BV20, BV23, V93, V95, V99, YG11, YG13, YG17, YG91, YG93, YG95, YG97, YR15, YR18, YR23 Next ...

Strange Skin Vamp...

Image
Ok, so I DO have my Smeared & Smudged card finished, but I thought since Strange Skin was sponsoring Smeared & Smudged's 26th day of the 31 Days of Halloween today, I'd show this little number instead. This is a digi image called Just Bitten .  Perfect image for a medallion-styled layout me thinks.  :)  I've been having a little fun playing with red lately, which is sooooooo unlike me... but this image literally screamed red ... no?! I used several different Nesties, an EK Success scallop border punch & a Tim Holtz edge die. Copics:  0, BV20, C00, C1, R35, R37, R59, N1, N4, N7 I'm really diggin' these Strange Skin images... my wish list is growing :) You should definitely check out the 31 Days of Halloween hop... there are some amazingly creepy-cool projects!

Fiendishly Fun Friday - Sedlec Ossuary

Image
The Cemetary Church of All Saints is a snall Roman Catholic Church in Sedlec, in the Czech Replublic. It's several centuries old, and beneath it lies the Sedlec Ossuary. An ossuary is a place where human remains are stored, sans coffins, to save space when they've been buried for a long time. So, why am I telling you about this one in particular? Sure, any place where they store humain bones MIGHT be worthy of a Fiendishly Fun Friday post, at a stretch. But, this one is special. In the 13th century, an abbott returned from the Holy Land and sprinkled a small amount of earth that he'd taken from Golgotha over the abbey cemetary. This made the graveyard a highly desirable final resting place, and people from all over Europe would request to be buried there. The cemetary has been expanded, but with centuries of bones, the older ones ended up having to be stored in am ossuary. Again, it's all mildly interesting, but not really worthy of a Fiendish Friday post, right? Well,...
