Wretched Wednesday "StRaNgE bReW"

Image
I'm running a bit late, but I have somethin' cool to share. This week the Macabre Monday challenge is a recipe . I'll just put it out there, that I suck with recipes. Whether it's a baking recipe (totally suck!!!) or an epoxy recipe (you don't even wanna know!), I usually have a hard time  conforming to the perameters of a set and specific recipe.  I think I did okay this time. First we start with the 2 layers - black card and DCWV dp. This paper is perfect for this cameo portrait image. Then we add  1 main image - "Just Bitten" from our sponsor Strange Skin . The image is layered onto a die cut (punched) element which is a floral oval Spellbinders Nestie. I am really pleased with how she turned out. Lastly we have the puffy satin bat trim , the odd, yet bat-like metal brad with rhinestones, and the last adornment of four black pearls . Ta-dah! There is still plenty of time to get your recipe toget...

So here is the recipe you must follow to play along with us in the dungeon this week. Begin with 2 layers (actual card counts as one layer) Add  1 main image panel                   Mix in some metal bits of your choosing Add some drops of black pearls Gently fold in  1 punched element Tie up nicely wit...

Pigment Play Gruesome Twosome

Image
It seems that the concept of elegance has eluded both myself (Creepy G) and Donna this week. Some Minions just don't do elegant. So I'm just gonna skip to the best part anyway, the chosen ones from last week's Perplexing Pigment Play challenge sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps . Now if I didn't know my fellow Minions any better, I'd swear they were crushing a bit on this first Gruesome. Mark    I'm sure Mark's wins are based more on sheer talent than on the Minion's crush on a  mortal (?) boy.  But still... and Aisling Fabulous transformation of SI Grumpie to a baby Grumpie. Congratulations to both of you! Lastly, we have the winner of the 7 free images of choice from Bugaboo Stamps Nancy Hauntingly gorgeous bouquet Congrats Nancy! Please email me ( Creepy G ) to claim your prize. Thank you to everyone who played along with us last week. It was great to see all of you...

Wretched Wednesday: Perplexing Pigment Play

Image
We are sponsored by Bugaboo stamps  this week. Bugaboo was one of my very first digi stamp purchases back when I started this "little hobby" of mine years ago. I fell for the Skelekinz line via another blogger, and I was instantly hooked on their simple designs that lend themselves to so many occasions. They are so easy and fun to color. The theme is a color challenge using black , teal , purple and lime green . I used an old Bugaboo freebie called, flower tag (they give away a free image every Friday), and the cute (in a mouth less and nose less kinda way) bare feet image. I think they work well together.   I used a circle and a scalloped circle Spellbinder, fussy cut the tag and the bare feet girl, and then doused it all with Stickles and Stardust Gelly Roll pen. She strikes me as a fairy and fairies have to sparkle right? If memory serves me correctly, most fairies are quite nasty an...

Wretched Wednesday HDH136 Calling all Truebies

Image
Season 5 starts this Sunday! Can I get a "hell yeah!"?! Hey! I just noticed that my favorite ripped werewolf is missing from this group shot! Let me fix that.   There, that's so much better. How you doin'? Woof! Anyhoo, I digress. And I drool, too. The challenge this week is to pay homage to the enigma that is HBO's True Blood . Here is my homage. I had lots of elements that I wanted to use on this card. Believe it or not, there were more bits of ephemera that didn't make it. It's a bit much, but I think it strikes a decent balance. I was able to use yet another of these weird bat-like brads, and destash my ever growing collection of feathers. I think they procreate in the jar where I keep them. Every time I grab one, three more pop out! I also finally broke out the weird (for me) TH Distress Stickles in Antique Linen. It gave the aged piece a nice sheen. I have the pleasure of sharing the spotl...
