Fiendishly Fun Friday - Salem's Lot revisited...

Ok, was it just me, or did this mini-series / movie scare the holy bejeezus out of you as a kid?  That crazy looking vampire with those wicked knarly teeth (and I don't mean knarly in a GOOD way...)!

Evidently I missed the remake with Rob Lowe... ummm... was it any good?

I also remember my sisters reading the book back in the day...

Go HERE for a movie & book summary.

I loved to hate that movie when I was a kid. I was so scared that I couldnt even move to stop watching it and had to watch the next night to. I think I was only like 10 and watched it by myself (yes that was 30 years ago) and swore every year I would never watch it again and every year I would watch it. Thanks for the memories, lol.

The Nosferatu-type vampire is my favorite. Not the romanticised versions from Anne Rice, although I loved all of her books, but hate the fact that Tom Cruise played Lestat. Lame.
Anyhoo, love Salem's Lot with David Soul and the boy from "James at 15". My mom was always reading some Stephen King novel, so when they were all made into movies we had to watch them!

I'm pretty sure this was the first Stephan King book I read. And I read it OVER and OVER! Way scary! Not sure I saw the movie. (Can that be, or am I having a senior moment?)
