Hermoine...

Super quick post this morning!  I wanted to let you all know about Simply Betty Stamps' latest release this week.  I'm only showing off one of the six, so be sure to pop over to The Burtonesque Dolls blog all week long to see Harry, Ron and a few other HP characters!

Hermoine is all about attitude... well to ME anyway :)  So I altered a fabulous little sentiment for this one ;)

Don't worry... the inside reads:  "Fan-freakin'-tastic is the 1st."  :)  Yep... what were YOU thinking my favorite 'f' word was?  Uh huh... I know.

I gave my Copics a break for this one and got out my Lyra Aquacolor crayons and a Dove Blender... super quick and easy.  It took longer to cut her out than it did to color I think.

I also got a fabby new spiderweb edge punch... because you can never have too many :)

Stamps:  Hermoine (SBS), Fabulous You (TAC)
Paper:  Bazzil & Neenah cardstocks
Ink:  Noir Palette
Other:  EK Success edge punch, Micron pen

That's it for today... enjoy this week over at The Burtonesque Dolls!  And tune in on Monday for another HDH Macabre Monday challenge :)

Wicked Wednesday - HDH083 Magically Witchy

Creepy G here with another Hump Day offering.

This week's Macabre Monday challenge is sponsored by
There is $10 worth of digital goodness up for grabs
this week.

The challenge is simple.
Make something magically witchy.

I used some of the killer Zodiac Tiny Tickets for my card.

These come in a set of 12, so you have one for every month
which makes it easy for birthdays and those friends who like
the whole astrology thing.

I used each month's birthstone to figure the color
of each ticket. After coloring each one with Copics,
I fussy cut each ticket and aged it a bit with distress inks.

I am planning on making a set of these to keep on hand
for each month just in case I forget some one's special day.

I have another Stitchy project using the "Dem Bones" silhouettes,
but my battery croaked before I could get any photos. I'll post them tomorrow.

Please join us this week for our Macabre Monday challenge and
drop by Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps and check out all the
amazing images you could choose from if you are this week's
winner!

HDH052 - Graveyard step card

Freakin' finally, right?  I stayed up late last night finishing this little baby off.  I've seen step cards around for awhile now, and just never tried one out... this HDH052 challenge gave me the perfect reason to do one :)  I mean, sometimes it's tough to get three or more images on one card unless you have just a little bit more room to work with :)

Have I told you lately that I LOVE my MS grass border punch?!  I think that is clear on this little graveyard scene!

I stamped the iron gate on a transparency and then glued it at the bottom & covered it with another grass strip to conceal it.  Works well me thinks!

I'm not sure you can tell, but there are a bunch of little stars in the night sky that I made with a glitter pen.

How do you like the kitty hiding behind the grass?  That would be a "whoopsie-turned-wonderful".  I took a marker to color the white around his whiskers green, so that it would blend a bit.  UGH!  Do NOT do that.  So I covered it all with the bunch of grass... genius me thinks :)

Don't you love the orange bubbly wondermous oozing from the cauldron in the background?!  Me too :)  And the gravestone border punch from MS... love love LOVE.  Love even more when I add a little Stickles to them :)

Delightfully Spooky (TAC sentiment), witch/cauldron silhouette (unknown)
Paper:  Bazzill & Neenah white & TAC black cardstocks
Ink:  StazOn black, Memento Tuxedo, VersaFine Onyx,
Other:  MS border punches, orange & Concord Distress Stickles, clear Stardust glitter pen, Copic markers

Halloween is Hoppin' at Tiddly Inks!

I was so happy to get this done in time for Tiddly Inks Halloween Hop!  The hop is running 6pm CST on July 22 to 6pm CST on July 24... and I have a feeling there will be a TON of participants for this one :)  For additional deets or to start hoppin', just pop over to the TI Challenge blog!

Now, on to the show :)  I chose Gossmere for my very first EVER TI image... I know!  Can you believe I've waited this long?  Isn't she freakin' cute?!  I just can't decide if she is a vamp or a witch... either way, she's got a princess complex, right?!

Digi:  Gossmere (TI)
Rubber Stamp:  Delightfully Spooky (TAC)
Paper:  Bazzill, PTI white & Neenah cardstocks
Ink:  VersaFine Onyx
Other:  Tim Holtz embossing folder, EK Success & MS border punches, spider confetti, MM felt flower, black felt flower (handmade), misc. gems, Scor-bug, silver glitter pen
Copics:  0, BV0000, BV20, BV23, YG01, YG03, YG91, G24, V01, V06, V09, V99

These photos are horrible... even clicking to make them bigger might not help.  I really need a little spot to set up so I can take pics at night without them turning out icky... dang it.  Believe it or not, but the plum violet cardstock matches her dress perfectly.  And I'm really happy with how well her blue-violet skin turned out  :)

HDH045 Macabre Monday challenge...

Thought I'd post this before the weekend gets too far away from me.  Of course it didn't help that I slept in until 10am!!!  I KNOW.  But, I didn't go to bed until the wee hours of the morning, so it's not like I'm THAT big of a loser :)  I was up watching some LAME horror movie... I didn't even wait until the end to change the channel... yeah, THAT lame.

Anyway, on to today's bit of creepy cuteness :)  I FINALLY finished my entry for this week's masking challenge!  And so sorry... it IS cute.  :)

I had the idea for this since I first saw this set in the new TAC catalogue at seminar.  Well, I didn't have the broom and hat in mind, but the rest... definitely.  I admit, it looked better in my head... it looks kinda cluttered and busy now.  I should have left off the broom & hat... but I LOVE that broom stamp.  And isn't she such a cute little witch... all ready for bed in her pink curlers?!

Stamps:  Movie Night, Spring Dream and All Season Swirls (retired TAC), broom (Battle Axe), sentiment (Viva Las Vegas)
Paper:  Penelope & brown cardstocks, Cougar white cardstock
Other:  Lime Stickles
Copics:  0, YR02, YR04, YR07, YR18, YR23, YR24, YG01, YG03, YG91, V01, V06, V09, RV02, RV10, RV11, RV13, E09, E31, E35, E53, E57, E59, BG02

Here is the original stamp image (above).  I masked over the little girl on the left.  I LOVE the hair curlers.  They make me smile.  They remind me of when I was a very little girl... I would watch my sisters & mom put them in their hair.  I also masked the sentiment/swirls & a teensie bit of the broom.

So much fun to color... I need to work on my wood floor technique more.  Maybe I should google you-tube that.  Her hair & face turned out awesome, me thinks.

Ok, my little pretties... your challenge this week:
Noxious Toxins

You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween page, project or card using images & sentiments of a poisonous nature.   Arsenic bottles, killer ivy, venomous snakes, pollutants of nature...
... it's a toxic free-for-all.

Check it!  Another week of getting my card done on time :)
Oh, man... I probably just jinxed myself!

Is this not freakin' adorable?  I know... I REALLY like the dark & creepy, but I saw this image and had to have it.  I love the sweet & sinister look on her face :)  This image is huge... not much room for any extra schtuff.  I should have done a 5-1/2" square card... but that's out of my comfort zone :)

Stamps:  Perfect Poison (or is it Pretty Poison? -- Kraftin' Kimmie)
Paper:  Neenah white, TAC black & DCWV green cardstocks
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo
Other:  MS border punch, Crystal Lacquer, Offray & HL ribbons
Copics:  0, E000, E00, E11, V93, V95, V99, YG01, YG05, BV20, BV23

I added a little lacquer to the bottle, her eyes, & barrettes.  I know... ANOTHER dotty background... but it is totally in keeping with this image, no?!  Me loves it.

Ok.  Your turn.  Are y'all up for concocting a little sumpin' sumpin' for this week's challenge?

Ok, my little pretties... your challenge this week:
Voodoo Witchery

You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween page, project or card using images and/or sentiments of the voodoo persuasion.  Witch doctors, medicine men, deep south voodoo... or in my case:  a magical Rasta Voodoo Elfwitch :)  Check it:

I was going to color the skin of this fairy green, as is my usual tendency with fairies, but I had already stamped her on green cardstock.  So in order to create shadows and depth, I used a couple of violet-based colors... they created this beautiful plum-cocoa skin color!

You can barely see her pointy ears amongst her dreads, but they are there!  I used the Copic blender to remove color from her eye area... looks like green eyeshadow, no?  The moon is made from kraft packing paper (like grocery sacks) and sponged with ink.

Dig the awesome shape of this card front!!  It's one of Tim Holtz's open edge dies.  Me likey A LOT!  I added a copper orange piece to the back of the card so the funky edge would really show.

Stamps:  Elfwood w/ Dredlocks (Stamp It Crazy), sentiment (Viva Las Vegas)
Paper:  black (TAC), green & orange (Bazzill) cardstocks, and kraft packing paper
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo, Burnt Sienna & Orangerie Palettes
Other:  white gel pen, EK Success edger punch, Tim Holtz die, ribbon (HL)
Copics:  0, V95, V99, YR04, YR18, YR23, YR24, RV13, G85

Did I mention that this awesome image is up for grabs this week?  Yep!  Barb over at Stamp It Crazy, being the awesome person that she is, has offered up this rubber stamp!!  Thanks, Barb!!

So, let's see some voodoo magic, mon!  Are juju up for the challenge?!!  ;)

4.09.2010

I couldn't take it....

... all of that rubber... sitting there... staring at me... mocking me... I cracked.

Ta da!  It was so worth it... ya' know... not getting some of the non-fun stuff done that I really need to get done :)  Isn't she awesome?!  This is one of the Goddess stamps from Elementals from Smeared Ink... me likey alot.  I almost started with regular skin tones and thought better of it... I'm so glad.  I think I'll have to buy refill ink for my Copic markers soon, but man I had fun.

I added Crystal Lacquer on the water drop tattoos, eyes & lips... o-so-shiney :)  I seriously tried to get a decent photo, but I'm telling you right now the skin shading looks way better in person.

One thing I might do next time is mask off the inked cheek area... I HAVE been know to perform stamp surgery before... cutting out elements or snipping them apart... but I'm thinking Terra might hex me if I did that :)  AND this is such a lover-ly stamp image... maybe I'd better stick to masking :)

And just so you know, I've NEVER seen a stamp sheet of rubber so damn thick before!  It is unbelievable... I'm just sayin'.  Lil' Grumpies is on my list, but I must wait until next month... dammit.
