Haunted Design House

Well, skeleton crew that we are, we made it! Haunted Design House is back in the  Smeared and Smudged DT Throwdown ! Just Creepy Glo and Donna this time around though. Being as most of our Minions serve double, triple, or quadruple duty on other DTs, it's hard to wrangle enough of us together  even for a monthly throwdown. The chosen theme for this month's challenge is  "Danse Macabre" or the "Dance of  Death". Last month's throwdown winners, Airless Chambers   chose the theme. And what a wicked theme it is!! Growing up and listening to metal bands, I immediately thought of a song by "Celtic Frost", aptly named, "Danse Macabre".  Well, it was sort of a song. More like track from a creepy, Satanic movie soundtrack. I'll put the You Tube link on my personal blog . But, that was my inspiration for my throwdown piece.   I tell you this, thinking it might make some sense now, but probably not. ...

Here we are starting the second, and final week for our Holey Moley challenge . Pretty simple, you just have to include MORE than one hole  in your project.  That's it!  Oh, and make sure it's Hallowe'en , horror , Steampunk ,  or Gothic in theme. Want some inspiration? This is a pretty simple challenge this time around. All we ask  is that  you create a   dark, Gothic, or Hallowe'en   based art piece  with more than one hole in it . Now those holes can be cave entrances, rat holes,  sink holes,  or holes in a pair of stockings.  Be creative, but keep it creepy. I have been a selfish Minion. I have stalled getting the latest post written up, in the hopes that my project would be done by now. So. Not. The case.  The challenge theme is to use either a noose, or knots of some kind on your project. You can google, "how to tie a noose". It's surprisingly easy. That's right. You still have a week to enter our current challenge. Do you have a "go to" embellishment that you turn to in a pinch? How about sparkly ribbon or a cool 3D embellishment? Well, try to make a project using only one type of embellishment. Not as easy as you may think. Apparently, Donna likes the googly eyes.   Really though, who doesn't love a good googly eye, or two? Personally, I like brads.  If I have a blank spot to fill, there goes a brad.  I used four diamond brads on this card. Thanks for dropping by today.
