Fiendishly Fun Friday... HDH156 - Nosferatu ad nauseam - from The Mistress

Image
Do not adjust your monitors.  It is not a glitch.  And no... you are not hallucinating (or maybe you are).  It is I... The Masterful Mistress of the Macabre! Oh how I have missed this.  It has been so sad that I haven't been able to get my creep on this year and participate at HDH.  Life sometimes is a drag, and the mundane things like work, bills & drama unfortunately take the front seat. So, on to the good stuff for today!  This week we are sponsored by Rick St. Dennis .  I chose to work with his " Salome the Vampyr " and " Hexology " images... and they are fabulous: I apologize for the horrible photos... I just don't know how to adjust my camera when it comes to reds... they always end up REALLY bright.  Anyway, I know the color combo on this card is a bit different.  Red, purple, black & gold?  Yeah.  I had already colored her gown purple & hair black, so the robe needed contrast... it DOES pick up ...

Wretched Wednesday Nosferatu Ad nauseam

Image
It is Wednesday already! Only one week until Hallowe'en!! I add the exclamation points to give the illusion of enthusiasm. I am B-U-R-N-T out this year! I didn't even decorate my house. I know! The shock and horror of it all! I figure I have enough everyday Hallowe'en inspired stuff adorning my house. To the layman, I decorated. Kinda bummed, but not enough to warrant going through 20 boxes of decorations, only to have it out for a week or two. Then comes Creepmas....         Anyhoo, the challenge this week is basically, vampires . Easy enough with everyone already having their Halloween supplies out and at the ready. No cute schtuff please.   We are sponsored this week by Rick St. Dennis , who has generously offered up 3 free digis of choice to the GTs this week.     We have a couple of samples to get your mid week mojo flowin'.   Creepy Cricut Cween Donna :    ...

*Please see the sidebar for HDH Macabre Monday Rules* ( Note: entries not following the guidelines are not eligible for prizes or badges ) Okay, macabre fans ... your challenge this week: HDH156 " Nosferatu Ad nauseam " You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween -based art piece that has anything to do with Vampires. Lots of vampires! Tribute to the unholy Vampire!! Fangs, blood, sensuality. We want to see your interpretation of the beautiful or the deadly Vampyre. Our sponsor this week is Rick St. Dennis . Rick has a wonderfully dark line of Creepmas images and many masterfully drawn everyday macabre images. He also has more mainstream images available as well.   Now not only have the Minions been given some digis to work with, but BOTH Gruesome Twosomes will win 3 digis of their choice .  I think we will be inundated with entries this week! There is also a challenge blog called Sparkle and Glitter ...

Fiendishly Fun Friday: HDH132 Gothic Makeover

Image
As Summer is basically here, it makes me long for the cool, crisp evening air of Autumn and all that is dark and lovely.  However, HBO's True Blood is back in June with Season 5, so that is one of the FEW saving graces of Summer :)  And  since I'm already counting down to June 10th, I thought I'd go all vampish on a cute Saturated Canary digi:  Suzie Stockings   Me thinks I Goth'd her up just a bit.  I used Copic Toner Grays for the black, my favorite "dead" skin combo (BV23, BV20, C00), and for the red:  R39, R56, R37, R35.  The two papers are from Karen Foster, the glittery die-cut is from a LSS, May Arts bat trim, & who knows where the black heart brad came from :)  Did you notice I added a little rhinestone on her garter, too?  Love it. Her dress was really fun to color... all of those folds! The red is waaaay off in this photo.  Damn glitter & shimmery cardstock threw off the lighting. Krista wit...

Mutinous Monday...

Image
Just a few more weeks and the Minions will be back!  Until then, here is a little sumpin' sumpin' from the Mistress: All of the stamps used here are/were from The Angel Company.  I cut up a large collage stamp that had a vintage chick on it with a totally f'd up face... the border and the sentiment was pretty cool, so viola!  I even did a little heat embossing on this baby. I paper-pieced the chair fabric for a little POP o' color... regal purple... mmmmmmm... this makes me think of True Blood's former King of Mississippi, Russell Edgington for some reason.   (image borrowed from Google Images) Though Russell was not a looker (helloooooo Eric... I miss you), he definitely had that royal air about him.  Not to mention his style of furnishings: (image borrowed from Google Images) Anyway... back to the grind... I need to work on my class samples, but I'm probably just going to veg in front of the tv.  Gotta work at the Evil Job tomorrow... dam...

HDH Mutinous Monday #003...

I'll say it...  I miss my Macabre Minions! Yep, I can't wait for the new year so we can get our creep on again :) Until then, how about a little sumpin' sumpin' from The Masterful Mistress of the Macabre? Since the next installment of the Twilight Saga premiered this week, I thought I'd share this little gem: Do you get the Twi-vibe?  Well, at least a little Gothic-vampy thing anyway. I just love the stick pins and that FAN-FREAKIN-TASTIC blood-red rosette ribbon... yummy.  And do you see the tiny token spider in the corner?  Kinda cute :) What do you think?

HDH085 Gothic Pinup - ala The Macabre Mistress

Quick post today since I'm supposed to be working :P "Why no, BossMan... I'm not blogging... I'm doing research." ANY way, back to this week's fun challenge sponsored by Tiddly Inks ... Whoo hoo... thanks so much, Christy!  I chose to work with Heartbroke Happy ... kinda sad... or is she?  I'm thinking she is more like an inflicter of heartache instead... right?! The sheer skirt was fun to work with, and I tried out some new Copic colors... BG99, BG95, BG93... I'm diggin' them.  And I vamped her out a bit with C00 & BV20's skin tones :) AND do you see the little skully?!  I used a fun red/white camo GlowSkull from our very own Creepy Glowbugg !  I placed him atop a snippet of black lace on top of a swirled ribbon flower that I created from grosgrain... me likey. You've still got about 3 more days to play along for a chance at a $10 gift voucher to Tiddly Inks !!!  Check out all the details on this week's Macabre Monday post ! ...

Bite Me Butchered Blueprint :)

Image
Woooo hoo!  Got HDH064 challenge done,  AND just in under the wire since I'll be working all afternoon/evening tonight & all day tomorrow! I challenged myself to take one of Nikki 's cute, not-so-creepy images and show it's sinister side `:)   This digi is One Candle Cupcake from Limited Runs Stamps , and I love it.  I can soooooooo see this decked out in pink & glitter & all kinds of beautimousness... but me likey alot this way, too!  The photo isn't the greatest... the red is a really deep scarlet blood red in real life... this looks kinda pink/red...   I used Copic markers, some rose trim from American Crafts, EK Success chain punch, MS Drippy Goo punch, So Splattered stamp (retired TAC) and Stamp Insanity's Otherworldly Loves for the sentiment.   You've still got until tomorrow at 5pm CST to play along with this week's HDH064 challenge !

HDH063 - Freaker's Free for All by Barb

Image
Here it is... Saturday, and I'm just now posting my challenge stuff :)  I'm not in a gabby kinda mood today, so I'm just gonna share a bunch of photos of my Tim Holtz Configurations box I made with My Mind's Eye papers, Tim's tissue tape & Mod Podge: I LOVE this line of paper... is all flocked and fabulous.  I've got a couple of little Halloweenie bits & bobbs that I'll put in  the box... and I think I'll take the acrylic out of the lid because it really obscures your view of the inside. I also had this little guy colored up and threw this card together real quick: I'm not totally stoked with the card, but image is too damn cute :) This is Dracula Mikey from SBS and the sentiment is from a Tim Holtz Halloween stamp set. What do you think?

Strange Skin Vamp...

Image
Ok, so I DO have my Smeared & Smudged card finished, but I thought since Strange Skin was sponsoring Smeared & Smudged's 26th day of the 31 Days of Halloween today, I'd show this little number instead. This is a digi image called Just Bitten .  Perfect image for a medallion-styled layout me thinks.  :)  I've been having a little fun playing with red lately, which is sooooooo unlike me... but this image literally screamed red ... no?! I used several different Nesties, an EK Success scallop border punch & a Tim Holtz edge die. Copics:  0, BV20, C00, C1, R35, R37, R59, N1, N4, N7 I'm really diggin' these Strange Skin images... my wish list is growing :) You should definitely check out the 31 Days of Halloween hop... there are some amazingly creepy-cool projects!
