Season 5 starts this Sunday! Can I get a "hell yeah!"?! Hey! I just noticed that my favorite ripped werewolf is missing from this group shot! Let me fix that.   There, that's so much better. How you doin'? Woof! Anyhoo, I digress. And I drool, too. The challenge this week is to pay homage to the enigma that is HBO's True Blood . Here is my homage. I had lots of elements that I wanted to use on this card. Believe it or not, there were more bits of ephemera that didn't make it. It's a bit much, but I think it strikes a decent balance. I was able to use yet another of these weird bat-like brads, and destash my ever growing collection of feathers. I think they procreate in the jar where I keep them. Every time I grab one, three more pop out! I also finally broke out the weird (for me) TH Distress Stickles in Antique Linen. It gave the aged piece a nice sheen. " You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween -based art piece that represents or celebrates the upcoming season debut of The Mistress's favorite television show, True Blood . It starts up again for it's 5th season on HBO this coming Sunday.   This pleases the Mistress. If you aren't familiar with the show you can google clips or episodes, but basically it's about a bunch of highly sexual vampires, werewolves, shape shifters, mediums, and witches, (and were panthers, too - some crazy shit huh?) trying to coexist (or not) amongst the humans in Louisiana. The show is somewhat loosely based on the Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlaine Harris. We are joined this month by our first Guest DT Cryst...

As Summer is basically here, it makes me long for the cool, crisp evening air of Autumn and all that is dark and lovely.  However, HBO's True Blood is back in June with Season 5, so that is one of the FEW saving graces of Summer :)  And  since I'm already counting down to June 10th, I thought I'd go all vampish on a cute Saturated Canary digi:  Suzie Stockings   Me thinks I Goth'd her up just a bit.  I used Copic Toner Grays for the black, my favorite "dead" skin combo (BV23, BV20, C00), and for the red:  R39, R56, R37, R35.  The two papers are from Karen Foster, the glittery die-cut is from a LSS, May Arts bat trim, & who knows where the black heart brad came from :)  Did you notice I added a little rhinestone on her garter, too?  Love it. Her dress was really fun to color... all of those folds! The red is waaaay off in this photo.  Damn glitter & shimmery cardstock threw off the lighting. Krista wit...

Just a few more weeks and the Minions will be back!  Until then, here is a little sumpin' sumpin' from the Mistress: All of the stamps used here are/were from The Angel Company.  I cut up a large collage stamp that had a vintage chick on it with a totally f'd up face... the border and the sentiment was pretty cool, so viola!  I even did a little heat embossing on this baby. I paper-pieced the chair fabric for a little POP o' color... regal purple... mmmmmmm... this makes me think of True Blood's former King of Mississippi, Russell Edgington for some reason.   (image borrowed from Google Images) Though Russell was not a looker (helloooooo Eric... I need to work on my class samples, but I'm probably just going to veg in front of the tv.  Gotta work at the Evil Job tomorrow... dam...

Ok.  I am totally jealous of those who live in Florida... well, at least for the month of October :)  The Seminole Casino Coconut Creek is having a ton of events, my favorite being held on October 16th:   A meet & greet with a couple of the True Blood cast members!  The main focus for me would be Joe Manganiellio who plays "Alcide" ... yum!   SCCC will also be having a pumpkin carving contest , costume contests , AND... are you ready for this... a meet & greet with Linda Blair !  Yep, the horror flick queen herself.  Check out dates & more events below (click on photo to enlarge): Seminole Casino Coconut Creek is hosting a prize giveaway on Haunted Design House!   Though it's not Halloweenie, these little babies will come in handy...
