Hdh ATC Swap

With the Hdh taking a short break from challenges I the Menace Of The Monstrous (Mark) have managed to slip my shackles in the dungeon and get my hands on the key board to challenge the faithful to an ATC swap. ;)
Over the next few weeks I will be adding posts to remind you of the swap and to share a few ATC's I have made to hopefully get you in the mood.
I will also administer whippings to the Dt in the effort to get them to share some ATC's as well.

Today I am sharing a couple of ATC I made a little while back.
If you are interested in taking part in the swap please enter your name in the comment section of this post with a ** after your name. I will continue to link back to this post each time so its easy to find the place to sign up.
towards the end of November I will randomly match the people that are interested and post on here with the links to each of your blog pages so you can arrange the posting details amongst your selves.
If you have any questions please drop me a line.
I really do hope to see as many of you taking part in our first ATC swap, maybe we will even make it a regular feature?

Well I must get back before they notice I have gone, It hurts more when they are unhappy with us.

Last chance...

I'm running quite late this week and since our
yearly celebration of Hallow'een fell on a hump day,
I'm late for the mid week inspiration as well.

The challenge this week is
Hammer House of Horror.
Choose a Hammer film, a Hammer actor, or Hammer movie monster,
and let it be your muse for this challenge.
We're looking for non-cute and/or horror inspired creations.
The options really are limitless for this one.

It's your last chance to thrill us for the year.
This will be our last scheduled challenge for 2012.
And it's your last chance to have your name cast into
the bubbling cauldron to win this month's Master of the Macabre!

First up is the finished product of Mark's Peter Cushing box, with a twist.

hammer 4
The front of the book, featuring Mister Cushing.

The spine of the book pulls out to reveal a secret drawer.
Nice!

And the back cover, with a brilliant kill scene
of Christopher Lee, as Dracula.
Awesome techniques all over this thing!!!
Check out Mark's blog to get the details of how he achieved
each bit of this incredible creation.

I chose to go with a movie theme, based solely on the film's title.
I chose "Vampire's Circus" , released by Hammer Films back in 1972.
I was alive then, but probably not watching horror movies yet.
I was sold on this film after reading the phrase,
"Human fangs ripping throats - no sawdust can soak up the torrent of blood!"
They just don't write tag lines like that any more.

Now I realize that the obvious theme to follow would have been the
Vampire element of the film, but I actually went with the
Circus/Fortune Teller idea instead. We just did Vampires last week anyway.
The film features a scheming fortune teller and a little person.
I didn't have a little person digi, but I did have this gorgeous fortune teller
image by Rick St. Dennis called, "Esmeralda", and the perfect tent image to go
with her from RSD as well.

I like to make step cards because it allows me to use lots
more elements than I am able to use on a basic card.
I added another film poster and the eyes of the original poster for
the background of my creation.

Well, that's it.
Now it's up to you to be inspired and play along with the final challenge
of the year for the Haunted Design House.
We'll be back sporadically, so keep checking back for bits of randomness
through the next couple of months.
We are also planning an ATC swap very soon.
Mark is trying to get his skeleton ducks in a row and then will make the
official announcement.

HDH157 - Hammer House of Horror

*Please see the sidebar for HDH Macabre Monday Rules*
(Note: entries not following the guidelines are not eligible for prizes or badges)

Okay, macabre fans... your challenge this week:
HDH157
"Hammer House of Horror"

You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween-based art piece
that is a tribute to Hammer Films http://www.hammerfilms.com

Hammer Films have been prolific in the horror film genre since the early
1950's. They released numerous sequel films to Dracula, Frankenstein,
and The Mummy.

This carried over into the 1960's with crime thrillers like
Maniac, in 1963.  Along with tons more classic monster
sequel films like "The Satanic Rites of Dracula" in 1973,
"Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell" in 1974, and
"Blood from the Mummy's Tomb" in 1971.

Hammer Film Productions are still releasing horror films to this day.
"Let Me In" was released in 2010, and "The Lady in Black" was released in 2012.

We want to see what impression the Hammer House of Horror films left indented on your soul mwahahaha.
Now go forth and create greatness!!

Let us see what came from the warped brains of the minions:

Fiendishly Fun Friday... HDH156 - Nosferatu ad nauseam - from The Mistress

Do not adjust your monitors.  It is not a glitch.  And no... you are not hallucinating (or maybe you are).  It is I...
The Masterful Mistress of the Macabre!

Oh how I have missed this.  It has been so sad that I haven't been able to get my creep on this year and participate at HDH.  Life sometimes is a drag, and the mundane things like work, bills & drama unfortunately take the front seat.

So, on to the good stuff for today!  This week we are sponsored by Rick St. Dennis.  I chose to work with his "Salome the Vampyr" and "Hexology" images... and they are fabulous:

I apologize for the horrible photos... I just don't know how to adjust my camera when it comes to reds... they always end up REALLY bright.  Anyway, I know the color combo on this card is a bit different.  Red, purple, black & gold?  Yeah.  I had already colored her gown purple & hair black, so the robe needed contrast... it DOES pick up the gold shimmer from the red velvet paper... bonus.

Let's think of Salome as a member of royalty that was turned by one of her Ladies-in-Waiting one Autumn evening.  You can see the head of her late husband at her feet... so much for romance.

I used a MS punch & a new Memory Box Gothic Arch die (L.O.V.E. it).  And the awesome red velvet paper is from Creepy Glowbugg... I still have one sheet left :)  I've been hoarding it.

So.  There it is... was it worth the wait?!  :)
Did you miss me?

Wretched Wednesday Nosferatu Ad nauseam

It is Wednesday already! Only one week until Hallowe'en!!
I add the exclamation points to give the illusion of enthusiasm.
I am B-U-R-N-T out this year! I didn't even decorate my house.
I know! The shock and horror of it all! I figure I have enough everyday
Hallowe'en inspired stuff adorning my house. To the layman, I decorated.
Kinda bummed, but not enough to warrant going through 20 boxes of decorations,
only to have it out for a week or two. Then comes Creepmas....

Anyhoo,
the challenge this week is basically, vampires.
Easy enough with everyone already having their Halloween
supplies out and at the ready.
No cute schtuff please.

We are sponsored this week by Rick St. Dennis, who has generously
offered up 3 free digis of choice to the GTs this week.

We have a couple of samples to get your mid week mojo flowin'.

Creepy Cricut Cween Donna:

002

The Contagion of Corrosion Croms:
WMenter

Now how's that for inspiration???

There is plenty of time to prepare a vampy type project.
The deadline for entries this week is Sunday at 5 PM CST.

Now for the Gruesome Twosome for last week's
R.I.P. challenge.

Congratulations to

and

Grab your badge and display it proudly.

Thank you to everyone who played along last week.
Keep it creepy!!!

Rick has a wonderfully dark line of Creepmas images and many
masterfully drawn everyday macabre images.
He also has more mainstream images available as well.

Now not only have the Minions been given some digis to work with, but
BOTH Gruesome Twosomes will win 3 digis of their choice
