Who are you callin' a Succubus?! Wretched Wednesday

Due to my (un)healthy obsession with television and my
(un)natural love of my DVR, I am officially a TV junkie.
I record so much TV every week, but I do manage to watch
some really cool and strange and funny shows that I would
probably miss if I had to rely on the antiquated way of watching TV.
One of my favorite shows to watch is "Lost Girl" on Syfy channel.
At first I wasn't feelin' it, as it started right after "Being Human" and I
had a hard time transitioning from werewolves and vampires, to the world of
the light and the dark Fae. Huh? Isn't that the premise for "True Blood"?
Anyhoo, as result of my having a girl crush on "Kenzie" (the main character's sidekick),
I was inspired for this week's challenge.
Yup! That was me!!

"Who are you callin' a Succubus?!"

What exactly IS a Succubus you ask?
In folklore traced back to medieval legend, a succubus (plural succubi) is a female demon or supernatural being appearing in dreams, who takes the form of a human woman in order to seduce men, usually through sexual intercourse. The male counterpart is the incubus. Religious traditions hold that repeated intercourse with a succubus may result in the deterioration of health or even death.
In modern fictional representations, a succubus may or may not appear in dreams and is often depicted as a highly attractive seductress or enchantress; whereas, in the past, succubi were generally depicted as frightening and demonic.
Now ya know.

We are sponsored by Kenny K who has such a talent for drawing hot ladies.
And he also draws some really cool guys and animals too!
Kenny has generously offered up 2 digis of choice to each of the GTs this week!

Up first, is Fiona using Carmen Electrafying from Kenny K

Super cool use of both wicked images together!

I went in another direction entirely.
No matter how hard I tired to keep in the dark, Gothic vein, the cards I was working on kept going in the vintage, faded direction. I even switched images thinking I could
darken up Jane Jettpack, but she turned out rather vintage in over all feel.

Can you say, "Hottie"?!

The challenge has been set.
Let's see your sinister, your wicked,
your naughty ladies!!
You have until Sunday at 5PM CST to enter!!

And now for the Gruesome Twosome from last week's

Attention past winners!!!

The Mistress has sent me to ask that any past winners
of sponsored prizes or Master of the Macabres
that have not yet received their winnings, please contact
her via her email (in the sidebar) to lay claim to your prizes (again).
The Dungeon is a wet and humid mess, and it seems as though The Mistress
has misplaced her notes. Again.

Thank you for your understanding.
Have a wicked day!

Wretched Wednesday Hiding in the Corners

It is the middle of the week already.
Have you started your project for this week's challenge yet?
Hiding in the Corners
is the challenge. All you need to do is make something
sinister and adorn the corners. Easy enough?

I chose to indulge myself, and feed my latest crafting addiction.

Artist Trading Cards.

I used Ike's "Honey" image for this serial killer
inspired card. Gotta love a crazy hott bitch with a meat cleaver!
Blood splatters and all corner adornments accounted for.

For this little masterpiece, I have used another
of Ike's images called, "WitchyMou".
Isn't she wonderfully horrible?!
I mounted the image onto an old dictionary page starting with
"blood root". I highlighted the bloody words with some Brick
and Worn Lipstick Distress Inks and a water painter.
I used some Y26 &Y28 on her teeth and then used a glaze pen
to give them a slimy sheen. I did the same for her eyes. Slimy, I say!

As the piece de resistance, I used a preciously tiny polymer clay
cauldron, crafted from my talented Minion Sister, Andrea.
I added some potion vapors and bubbles from paper scraps and Stickles.
Perfecto!

Speaking of Andrea, she is joining me today with her awesome creation.

hiding in the corners Ikes image
Andrea chose to work with the wicked WitchyMou too.
She's quite popular down in the Dungeon.
Andrea has layered WitchyMou onto some layers of melted tulle
(I don't know how she does that!) and adorned each corner with equal 3D wickedness.

So nice to have a little company in the Dungeon in the middle of the week.

Please join us this week and show us what's hiding in your corners.

And now for the naming of the Gruesome Twosome from last week's
"Insidious Inspiration" photo challenge.

Congratulations to

Congratulations ladies.
Fabulous work!

Macabre Monday HDH146 - Hiding in the Corners

*Please see the sidebar for HDH Macabre Monday Rules*
(Note: entries not following the guidelines are not eligible for prizes or badges)

Okay, macabre fans... your challenge this week:
HDH146
"Hiding in the Corners"

You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween-based art piece
that is obviously adorned in the corners.
It doesn't matter if it's an ATC, a painting, or a 3D project.
It must have something lurking in or on it's corners.
As usual, creepy cute will work, but the Minions really get
a warm and fuzzy feeling when we see beautifully scary,
tastefully macabre, and gorgeously Gothic inspired pieces.
Just sayin'.

We are sponsored this week by

Stitchy has generously offered up a $10 store credit to one
lucky winner.

Now it's time to see what the Minions have hidden in the darkest
recesses of their corners.

Another addition to the HDH dungeon!

That's right... and you've probably been expecting this one:

Oh yeah, baby... we finally captured a manly Minion for your creative inspiration!  Here's a quick bio:

“Hi, I started this crafting thing Xmas 2011 and have no art background.  My Sis has been crafting for years so I thought I would give it a go… my interest has grown from there.  I work for myself as a Landscape gardener and have been doing this for about 15 years.  I have two very stupid cats called Spesh (yes it is short for special needs) and Pounce. In the past I have spent a lot of my time climbing rock faces and it is still something I enjoy when time can be found.  As of this year my main interest has been the arts and crafts thing… love learning new styles and techniques.  I love being outdoors and need to get back to the climbing game."

Well, so much for that getting-back-outside-thing... Mark is officially part of the dungeon and is fitting in quite well already!  Here is his first offering as a Macabre Minion for this week's HDH145 Insidious Inspiration Macabre Monday challenge:

Once again, Mark has blown us away with his knack for 3-dimensional macabre creativity!  Freakin' fantastic as always :)  We are very lucky to have you as a part of our brood... welcome... and beware ;)

Wretched Wednesday Insidious Inspiration GTs and MoM

This week we have provided you with a photo
to draw your inspiration from.
HDH145 inspiration photo
I am a huge Oddities geek, so this photo really spoke to me.
Problem was, trying figure out that the hell it was saying!
This was a rough one, so I opted for a very literal interpretation.
I am starting to enjoy making ATCs, so I thought this would make
for a smaller and what I thought would be easier project.
Smaller? Yes. Easier? No.
It looked pretty good in the sketch phase, but once the colors were added, there
was no going back. I don't hate it, but I wanted to feel more proud of it than I am.

Betcha Fiona rocked this one!

Why yes, yes she did!!
Beautiful!!

Wretched Wednesday - Freaker's Free for All

It's that time of the week where I try to entice you with my wares.

The Macabre Monday challenge this week is
Freaker's Free for All
and we are sponsored by

I used a few Tiddly Inks images for this one.

I used "Vamp Me" as my main image.
I also used the headstone and the coffin from the Vampire extras pack.
I attached everything to a floral oval Spellbinder and added some
paper fleurs for that overall Gothic feel.
I am not a big Vampire fan
(I like the dirty werewolves better- like Alcide Herveaux),
but this is a sweet image, perfect for the newer generation
of Gothic glamourists and Vampyr lovers.

The challenge is anything goes, so why not play along with, well, anything!!!
As long as it's Hallowe'en or Gothic in nature, we'd love to see it!

And now the moment you've all been waiting for,
the naming of the Gruesome Twosome from
last week's Movie Madness challenge.

Congratulations to

"The Shining"

and

"Alice in Wonderland"

Wonderful creations ladies!
Truly inspired!

brilliant works of Hallowe'en and Gothic inspired art coming!
