Mid week inspiration and a guest DT!

Well Wednesday came and went, and I totally spaced
the Wretched Wednesday posting.
I am such a weak ticket sometimes.

Anyhoo, this week's challenge is to use the provided sketch.
Sometimes, the hardest part of card making is the layout.
This should make it easier for you.

HDH141 butchered blueprint - SatCan
Feel free to flip it anyway that works for your project,
but please follow it enough that we can find the sketch design
in you work.

I'd like to introduce you to this month's guest DT.

I first fell in love with Nancy's highly distressed, detailed, and dimensional style
when I won her awesome Betelgeuse card quite some time ago.

Cool, right?
Nancy will be joining in on the challenges with us for the rest of the month.
Her creations are quite the treat.

Here is my Butchered Blueprint card.

Like Nancy, I also flipped the sketch and used it more to my liking.
I also branched out into another color palette that I don't usually use.
I realize I use lime green quite a bit, but blue is not one of my "go to"
colors.
I used a cool sentiment from Ginger's House
and coupled it with Smeared Ink's Candy is Dandy bear.

I pierced his little heart with a pink stick pin.
Hey, it was in the sketch! It looks like it may hurt a little though.

There is still plenty of time for you to whip something creative
together and join us in our sketch challenge.

Last but not least are the chosen winners from last week's
Vile Vintage challenge.

Congratulations to

Vile Vintage Mid-week inspiration

Well, it seems like it's becoming my modus operandi
to be late with my Wednesday posts.
Keeping with that tradition, here is my
Vile Vintage Ephemera shadowbox.

I have a hoarded supply of 8X8 shadow boxes that I picked up at a
ridiculously low price last season. It didn't occur to me to use one for
this project until late, Tuesday evening. I tore my original project apart,
and started anew around midnight.
Hence my tardiness.

Creepy ass ventriloquist dummy and his "Papa".
I mounted the photo and aged the whole thing to appear
distressed and forgotten.
I finally got another opportunity to use one of those
cool baby doll eyes from Pork Chop Show on Etsy.

Some people find the notion of Nuns and/or Catholicism
to be vile or unpalatable. I lightly sanded the face off the
nun to make her appear as a demon might when being photographed.
Then I added bloody fingerprints to give it some more drama.

I UTEE'd more bits of strange ephemera, and added a handmade tooth.
I think that covers Vile and Vintage Creepy Glowbugg style.

Now it's Croms' turn!

WMvile vintage
So elegant and seductively vile.

It's not easy for some of the Minions to create vileness in their work.
Others of us were born to be vile!
The challenge runs until Sunday at 5PM CST.
Please join us!

StRaNgE bReW challenge

Wretched Wednesday "StRaNgE bReW"

I'm running a bit late, but I have somethin' cool to share.
This week the Macabre Monday challenge is a recipe.
I'll just put it out there, that I suck with recipes.
Whether it's a baking recipe (totally suck!!!) or an epoxy recipe
(you don't even wanna know!), I usually have a hard time
conforming to the perameters of a set and specific recipe.

I think I did okay this time.

First we start with the 2 layers - black card and DCWV dp.
This paper is perfect for this cameo portrait image.

Then we add 1 main image - "Just Bitten" from our sponsor
The image is layered onto a die cut (punched) element
which is a floral oval Spellbinders Nestie.
I am really pleased with how she turned out.

Lastly we have the puffy satin bat trim,
the odd, yet bat-like metal brad with rhinestones, and
the last adornment of four black pearls.
Ta-dah!

There is still plenty of time to get your recipe together for this
week's Macabre Monday challenge. If I can do it, you certainly can!
has offered up 2 digis of choice to each Gruesome this week!

Now for the moment you have all been waiting for...

The Gruesome Twosome from last week's
"Eerie Elegance" challenge.

Congratulations to

and

Grab your badge ladies.
You really deserve it with these wonderfully
eerie and elegant projects!

Thank you to everyone who played along last week.
The entries were fabulous and we are enjoying the
varying mediums and ideas that are being created
using our weekly challenge themes.
We did have some entries that didn't quite qualify
for our challenge though. Please be sure to read the entire
challenge theme, and list how your entry applies
to our challenge specifically. This is a must if you
are interested in winning any prizes or qualifying for GT badges.
Remember to link back to us and link directly to your
post, not just your blog when entering your submissions.
Thanks for helping to make the world a little
creepier and little more bearable.

Macabre Monday HDH139 Strange Brew

*Please see the sidebar for HDH Macabre Monday Rules*
(Note: entries not following the guidelines are not eligible for prizes or badges)
Okay, macabre fans... your challenge this week:

HDH139
"StRaNgE bReW"

You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween-based art piece
that follows the Mistress' strange brew recipe that she cooked up special just for us.
Now it's okay to drink the kool-aid here in the dungeon, but when it comes to
the Mistress' cooking, well, let's just say you should bring antacids and a crucifix.
Yeah, it's like that.

So here is the recipe you must follow to play along with us in the dungeon this week.
Begin with 2 layers (actual card counts as one layer)
Add 1 main image panel
Mix in some metal bits of your choosing
Add some drops of black pearls
Gently fold in 1 punched element
Tie up nicely with some ribbon or trim

We are sponsored this week by

Strange Skin has a unique selection of digital images
that pander more to the horror hounds and macabre minded.
They have darkly beautiful images too. You should check them out
and decide for yourself.

This week's Gruesome Twosome will receive their choice of two digi's each, from any Strange Skin collection!  There are more collections listed on their etsy shoppe:
http://www.etsy.com/shop/StrangeSkinArt

Now it's time to see how the Minions fared in the kitchen.
(You can click on each Minion's name to be taken to their
personal blogs with more details and pics of their killer projects!)

Guest DT Minion for June: Crystal
This is Crystal's final hurrah with us this month as our guest DT.
She sure knows how to go out with a bang!
Thanks for coming to play with us in the dungeon, Crystal.
We aren't used to receiving visitors so I hope the stains come out
and I'm sure your sense of smell will return to you. Someday.

Pigment Play Gruesome Twosome

It seems that the concept of elegance has eluded
both myself (Creepy G) and Donna this week.
Some Minions just don't do elegant.

So I'm just gonna skip to the best part anyway,
the chosen ones from last week's
Perplexing Pigment Play challenge sponsored by

Now if I didn't know my fellow Minions any better, I'd swear they
were crushing a bit on this first Gruesome.

I'm sure Mark's wins are based more on sheer talent
than on the Minion's crush on a  mortal (?) boy.
But still...

and

Fabulous transformation of SI Grumpie to a baby Grumpie.

Congratulations to both of you!

Lastly, we have the winner of the
7 free images of choice from

Hauntingly gorgeous bouquet

Congrats Nancy!
Please email me (Creepy G) to
claim your prize.

Thank you to everyone who played along with us last week.
It was great to see all of your creative and inspired projects.
It's getting harder and harder to choose winners these days.
Let's keep it that way!
Looking forward to seeing what eerie elegance you have cooked
up for this week's challenge!
