Wretched Wednesday - Which Witch are YOU?

Totally spaced this week's post.
Sorry.

In lieu of an actual project, I am just
gonna show this awesome painting of
one of the most wretched witches of all time...

Maleficent!!!!!
As far as nasty witches go, she's my gal!

Although, Winnie from Hocus Pocus
runs a close second...

Now for last week's chosen ones.

and

Congratulations ladies! Beautiful work last week.

We are looking forward to seeing what this week's challenge
brings out in all of you!
There are lots of witches to find your inspiration with.
C'mon, even the Fairy Godmother has her bad days.

Macabre Monday HDH122 Which Witch Are YOU?

*Please see the sidebar for HDH Macabre Monday Rules*
(Note: entries not following the guidelines are not eligible for prizes or badges)

Ok, macabre fans... your challenge this week:

HDH122
"Which Witch Are YOU?"

You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween-based art piece
that represents YOU at your witchy best. Maybe you like to think
of yourself as the wicked step mother type witch, or maybe one
of the old crones who live by herself deep in the woods.
If you'd rather not represent yourself that way, you can just
choose your favorite witch of all time as use her as your muse.

Check out what the Macabre Minions have created for your viewing pleasure:

Love Lies Bleeding GTs

Betcha thought I forgot all about naming
the Gruesome Twosome from last week huh?
Well, I did.
But now the winners get a post all to themselves.

The chosen two for last week's
Love Lies Bleeding
challenge are:

Such a gorgeously hand drawn image.
(If you watched Ink Master last night, then you know how hard
it is to draw a proportioned hand.)

And,

Neat little ATC sized "meander" book of verses
from "Annabel Lee" , and wonderful images
of Poe and his love.

So beautifully tragic and haunting.

Thank you ladies, for your stunning submissions.
Take your badge and love it and squeeze it and call it George.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to play along
with our challenging challenge last week.
We really appreciate the time you give to the projects you submit
to us. They are all classy bits of art in their own right,
which makes it increasingly hard to choose the winners each week.

Looking forward to seeing what you all create for the current
Garden of Good and Evil challenge this week!

Wretched Wednesday - Garden of Good and Evil

This week's Macabre Monday challenge is
Garden of Good and Evil.

I wanted to make a dimensional project out of clay,
but wasn't sure which direction I should go with it.

I have been looking for a frog to zombify for months.
I was inspired by something I read on the Frog Queen's blog,
and thought how cool she would think I was if I made a
zombie frog.
Problem was, I never could find an acceptable ceramic frog
specimen for this project. So, I decided to just make the damned
thing myself!

Here is my silly clay version of a zombie frog
I'm not sure it translates well, but he is eating
a frog hand. That's his tongue wrapped around it.

I decided to make a garden background for my
amphibian of the living dead.
I used the awesome graveyard scene from
Delicious Doodles, and colored it with the
BV range of Copics. I added some Tim Holtz trees,
and some MS border punches, and then mounted it onto
black card stock.

I used vellum and glimmer mists to make the full moon.
I UTEE'd the die cut trees and used some iridescent
embossing powders to make them appear moonlit.
I used a butt load of foam dots to give this piece lots
of dimension.

I had to add a nice washing of
brown paint to give the frog some character.
Plus my son insisted on blood. I tried to keep
it on the lighter side, but it's so much fun to
add the blood - it's hard to know when to stop!

So, .....
what's lurking in your garden??

Wretched Wednesday - Shot through the Heart

First off, I'd like to thank everyone for playing
along with last week's challenge.
It's nice to be challenged to think outside of
our usual boxes sometimes isn't it?

This week's chosen Gruesome Twosome for the
Get Lost! challenge are:

Gorgeously aged with a group favorite, mythical beast.

And...

Really unique and beautiful, and ... bloody.

Please grab your badge and fly that freak flag high!!

Here is my submission for this week's
Shot Through the Heart challenge.

I am on a Dilly Beans kick lately. I am loving this Sugar Skull.
The images are so fun and easy to color, plus
they lend themselves to so many occasions.

I used a couple of Spellbinder hearts and cut the middle
out of one to represent the hole in the challenge.
I popped the skull out of the hole using dimensional dots.

I added some die cut flourishes, corner accents and
a glittered chip board love and a heart to try and
balance it all out.

Please join us for this week's challenge,
using at least one heart and
one hole on your creation.
