HDH100 - Varying Visages of Vincent... & a little BLOG CANDY-CORN!

Ok, macabre fans... this week marks HDH's 100th challenge! I can't believe it... who knew there were so many creeptastically cool people out there?! Thanks to everyone for tuning in and having fun with this little ol' blog :)

So, to celebrate this milestone, we're going to do a few things different this week >;) The general list of rules still apply (see sidebar), so be sure to follow them to be considered for the coveted Gruesome Twosome & Master of the Macabre titles!

There is BLOG CANDY-CORN to be had this week! That's right... keep reading...

Did you know that Vincent Price would've been 100 this year?!
Yes, so it is divine providence that this week's challenge is:

"Varying Visages of Vincent"

(translates to: the many faces of Vinny)
You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween-based art piece
that is inspired by the TRUE Master of the Macabre, Vincent Price.
A movie, character, poem, narration, song or quote... anything that the great Vincent Price has touched can be used for inspiration. If you need a little help, HERE is a link for some images, HERE is the official Vincent Price website, and HERE is a link to a website with some audio clips.

Now, about the blog candy... Here's a pic so far:

There are rubber and clear stamps, a handful of cards created by The Masterful Mistress herself, chipboard shapes and letters, altered chipboard purse & album pages, skullies, ribbons, floss, embellishments, Distress Stickles, rub-ons... Even a cute stuffed jacko (he's my favorite)... and much much MORE!

As we get more comments & challenge entries,
there MIGHT be more thrown in throughout the week!
AND some of the Minions will be giving away additional blog candy on their own blogs...
be sure to check them out!

The rules for entering blog candy drawing:
1. Readers shall hop to each of the Macabre Minions blogs to see their take on the challenge...
readers must comment on each of the (6) posts.
2. Spread the word about the candy corn via your blog, Twitter, whatevah. Then just comment on this HDH post with a link to the announcement about it.
3. If you play along with the HDH Macabre Monday 100th challenge, you get TWO extra chances to win... just linky up and then add two more comments. We will be selecting a Gruesome Twosome like we normally do.

Now let's see what the Minions have in store for you:

Sultana of the Sinister Lynx

Devious Digital Demoness Susan

Wretched Wednesday HDH099 Out! Out, damn spot!

This week's Wretched Wednesday offering
for the "Out! Out, damn spot!" challenge
is a bit on the bloody side.
I hope no one notices...
I used one of my "never been used yet" stamps
from Stampotique. I had to have this image
when it came out. Perfect for my less than traditional
holiday cards.
I also got to use some of this heinous hunting themed vellum
that I bought back when I was living in Texas. I figured I'd get to use
a bunch of it on cards for my Dad.
Needless to say, I still have a butt load of it.

I also forgot I even had the Tim Holtz wood grain embossing folder.
Came in handy for this card. I was having a rough time coming up with
anything to go with that damned vellum! Blood red embossing powder
and blood spatters complimented the animal killer paper just fine.

There is plenty of time to join in on the fun that is this week's
Macabre Monday challenge.
Get your entry in by this Sunday, 5PM CST.

ATTENTION PAST PRIZE WINNERS & MASTERS OF THE MACABRE:

(image "borrowed" from Google Images)

Hey all!  I apologize for being MIA for so long, but between family stuff, classes, my "real" job & CHA, I haven't had a chance to do anything.  So, if any of you that were to receive a prize and/or Master of the Macabre goodie pack and haven't received it, will you PLEASE email me at barbi007@kc.rr.com ?  In the email, please list your name, email address, mailing address & which HDH challenge or MM month you won.  I misplaced my list that I had started, and I know a couple of you are about to string me up >:)

(image "borrowed" from Google Images)

As soon as work slows down, I am hoping to get caught up.  Also, be looking for a little blog candy in the near future as well!

I want to give a HUGE shout-out to the Macabre Minions for doing an absolutely fabulous job with their weekly inspiration pieces, and for keeping up with the challenges and announcements.  Thank you SO much, ladies... you are awesome :)

Surprise! It's a Haunted Birthday Bash!!!!

We interrupt the previously scheduled challenge
to bring you
Lynx's Haunted Birthday Bash!!
Actually, her birthday was yesterday, but we wanted to
surprise her with a HDH birthday celebration for Macabre Monday.

Lynx (aka "Black Dragon") is a true sister Minion to us here at HDH.
She brings a sense of true darkness and beauty to our group.
Her creations, be it cards, jewelry, or fine art are just stunning and
true works of art!

Her latest trend, Horror Dolls (I named them that, not Lynx) are
pure brilliance! Not only is she making these insanley creeptastic
dolls, but she has been giving them names after each of the Minions.
This is "Gloria".
I think it should be spelled, "Gore-ia", but either way,
she is wonderfully wicked in her bad ass habit!

So, all of that being said, we all want to wish Lynx a wonderful
Birthday week  and hope she gets to relax for a moment (maybe two)
and enjoy her Birthday wishes and goodies.

We are  challenging you all to make a
Haunted Birthday Bash
creation for this week's Macabre Monday challenge.

HDH Macabre Monday Rules:

Hermoine...

Super quick post this morning!  I wanted to let you all know about Simply Betty Stamps' latest release this week.  I'm only showing off one of the six, so be sure to pop over to The Burtonesque Dolls blog all week long to see Harry, Ron and a few other HP characters!

Hermoine is all about attitude... well to ME anyway :)  So I altered a fabulous little sentiment for this one ;)

Don't worry... the inside reads:  "Fan-freakin'-tastic is the 1st."  :)  Yep... what were YOU thinking my favorite 'f' word was?  Uh huh... I know.

I gave my Copics a break for this one and got out my Lyra Aquacolor crayons and a Dove Blender... super quick and easy.  It took longer to cut her out than it did to color I think.

I also got a fabby new spiderweb edge punch... because you can never have too many :)

Stamps:  Hermoine (SBS), Fabulous You (TAC)
Paper:  Bazzil & Neenah cardstocks
Ink:  Noir Palette
Other:  EK Success edge punch, Micron pen

That's it for today... enjoy this week over at The Burtonesque Dolls!  And tune in on Monday for another HDH Macabre Monday challenge :)

Wicked Wednesday - HDH096

Bugaboo offering for you.
I went the way of the creepy cute as I needed a
card to fit a little girl who may or may not like creepy.

This little cutie is from the "Skelekinz" line from

The challenge here at Haunted Design House,
is to create a loooong project with loooong elements.
I used an opalescent thread to tether each of the skull balloons
to the card. I also used long, rectangles as my card and image bases.

See how easy that was?!
There is still plenty of time to play along with us,
for the "Xtremely Xhaustive" challenge.

I am loving these balloons!!!

Happy Hump Day!

{knock knock knock} Housekeeping...

I know that Sammibug & Ike are all taken care of, prize wise (Sammi, let me know when it arrives!)... who did I miss?  Email me (link in sidebar) and let me know so I can get those out this week!

I'm behind yet again in announcing a couple of the past Masters of the Macabre, but I was waiting for one last sponsor to name a winner... it STILL hasn't happened, so unfortunately I will have to substitute a prize for the Necro Neckware challenge.  Sorry guys!  Let me consult with the Minions to figure it out and I'll be back to announce winners.

Now, on to today's bit of cuteness... Oscar!

Isn't he awesome?  I agree... so much so, that he is the final image I chose for my class that I will be teaching at The Scrapbook Page in August!  Just look at that face.

LOVE him!  I know I always say this, but I think this is my new favorite line of SBS stamps :)
I know... not even the teeniest bit of creepiness... sorry!  I may need professional help for the lack of Halloweeniness on this Halloween blog...

Don't forget to pop over to the challenge blog to play along, as well as to see what the rest of the DT did with this adorable image!

SBS Judy & the Rockers Preview two-fer Thursday...
