HDH097 - Loathsome Lotharios

HDH Macabre Monday Rules:

1. Create a dark and macabre SOMETHING (card, scrap page, altered item, whatever) that follows the specific Macabre Monday challenge given. Cutesy is fine, but creepy is better :)

2. You have until the following Sunday night @ 5pm central time to post your creation and please leave a direct-link back here. Please make sure that your blog post / upload has been made AFTER the challenge date... we wanna see fresh stuff, not those from a few weeks ago!!

3. If you upload to any online galleries (TACPCC, S&S, PCP, SCS, etc.), please tag the title using HDH097.

4. Weekly giveaways! Some weeks will be loaded with loot, others not-so-much... but the thrill is in the win, right?! Some prizes shall be by random drawing, others hand picked... and I'm not telling you ahead of time :)

5. We'll be selecting a weekly Gruesome Twosome (our top two favorite creations) from all the players. At the end of every month these will be compiled and a Master of Macabre will be selected and will receive a little giftie from Barb... this could be stamp sets, handmade items, papers, halloweenie embellishments... you just never know.

6. In your post, please explain how your entry meets the challenge requirements... if you don't follow the challenge requirements, your entry will not be considered for GT status or prizes. Also please link back to the HDH challenge so others may find us & play along!

Ok, macabre fans... your challenge this week:

Loathsome Lotharios

You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween-based art piece
representing those bad boys we (sometimes) love to hate.
Think of a rake, libertine, a scoundrel, or a seducer... a man who obsessively seduces and deceives women, and create something that represents your desire or disgust.

Now let's see what the Minions have in store for you:

Sultana of the Sinister Lynx:

Creepy Cricut Cween Donna:

Agent of the AbominableAndrea:

Temptress of TerrorTeri:

Devious Digital Demoness Susan:

So now it's your turn! Let's see what you can create using serial seducers as your inspiration! If the linky tool isn't visible by the time your project is finished, please leave a comment with the url of your post title and we'll come visit.

Hermoine...

Super quick post this morning!  I wanted to let you all know about Simply Betty Stamps' latest release this week.  I'm only showing off one of the six, so be sure to pop over to The Burtonesque Dolls blog all week long to see Harry, Ron and a few other HP characters!

Hermoine is all about attitude... well to ME anyway :)  So I altered a fabulous little sentiment for this one ;)

Don't worry... the inside reads:  "Fan-freakin'-tastic is the 1st."  :)  Yep... what were YOU thinking my favorite 'f' word was?  Uh huh... I know.

I gave my Copics a break for this one and got out my Lyra Aquacolor crayons and a Dove Blender... super quick and easy.  It took longer to cut her out than it did to color I think.

I also got a fabby new spiderweb edge punch... because you can never have too many :)

Stamps:  Hermoine (SBS), Fabulous You (TAC)
Paper:  Bazzil & Neenah cardstocks
Ink:  Noir Palette
Other:  EK Success edge punch, Micron pen

That's it for today... enjoy this week over at The Burtonesque Dolls!  And tune in on Monday for another HDH Macabre Monday challenge :)

Fiendishly Fun Friday - Blood and Thunderclub

Sourced from the Blood and Thunderclub blog. I don't know why Blogger has made it go blurry, I've tried to fix it but whatever I do it's still blurred :( You can see it large and unblurred HERE.

Wicked Wednesday - HDH096

Bugaboo offering for you.
I went the way of the creepy cute as I needed a
card to fit a little girl who may or may not like creepy.

This little cutie is from the "Skelekinz" line from

The challenge here at Haunted Design House,
is to create a loooong project with loooong elements.
I used an opalescent thread to tether each of the skull balloons
to the card. I also used long, rectangles as my card and image bases.

See how easy that was?!
There is still plenty of time to play along with us,
for the "Xtremely Xhaustive" challenge.

I am loving these balloons!!!

Happy Hump Day!

I'm behind yet again in announcing a couple of the past Masters of the Macabre, but I was waiting for one last sponsor to name a winner... it STILL hasn't happened, so unfortunately I will have to substitute a prize for the Necro Neckware challenge.  Sorry guys!  Let me consult with the Minions to figure it out and I'll be back to announce winners.

Yeay... it's finally here... the day where you can get your inky mitts on the cuteness that IS Jude & the Rockers from Simply Betty Stamps!  SBS's online store is HERE and the challenge blog is HERE.  You COULD win a couple of these cuties by playing along with the challenge, so you should pop over there and check it out!

Now, on to today's bit of cuteness... Oscar!

Isn't he awesome?  I agree... so much so, that he is the final image I chose for my class that I will be teaching at The Scrapbook Page in August!  Just look at that face.

LOVE him!  I know I always say this, but I think this is my new favorite line of SBS stamps :)
I know... not even the teeniest bit of creepiness... sorry!  I may need professional help for the lack of Halloweeniness on this Halloween blog...

Don't forget to pop over to the challenge blog to play along, as well as to see what the rest of the DT did with this adorable image!

SBS Judy & the Rockers Preview two-fer Thursday...

Barely!  Warning... these are NOT the best cards I've done, but the images are so dang cute, I HAD to use them and I was in a rush... my bad.  So you should DEFINITELY go over to the Simply Betty Stamps blog to check out what the DT did yesterday and today... they are awesome!

Lilly:

You can barely see him, but I used one of Creepy Glowbugg's Glowskullz!  Love 'em :)

Ali:

I might be ripping these cards apart and re-using the images :)  Tomorrow's post is WAY better, so please check back!

Wicked Wednesday - HDH095 - From the Bone Pile

Happy Hump Day!
Creepy Glowbugg here, with my  Macabre Monday
submission.

This week is "From the Bone Pile",
which loosely translated, means
use your scraps!
I have so many scraps I should chase a ball and wag my tail!
Really, I have  5 drawers of color separated scraps, plus a few
photo boxes full of Hallowe'en and neutral scraps.
Don't even get me started on my ribbon scraps.

Anyhoo, I always need little note cards to add in with
my Etsy orders, and I usually just make one on the spot
which just slows this little turtle's operation to a crawl.
I decided to make the most of this challenge and kill two
zombies with one bullet.

I always punch out more shapes than I need when using
my Spellbinders so I have a couple of SU stamp cases full of
pre-punched die cuts.

I had fun using the white embossing on the pumpkin,
and then just sponging the color on with a dauber for
effect. I used a scrap of killer digi paper from
with spiders and flies and bloody
finger prints on it. Perfect!

I used a push pin to pull the orange Stickles
out from the spider's body to her legs.
Nice.

These are for my "less glittery" customers.
More masculine and less shiny.

I kept everything really simple as these are just
giveaway cards and I didn't want to spend too much
time on them without them looking that way.

Note cards for Etsy orders - check!
Macabre Monday "From the Bone Pile" - check!

There is still plenty of time to play along with us

This week's sponsor is
Scrap Your Scraps, who are offering a $15 voucher for their online store.
They have Copics and some incredible deals right now.
Really awesome deal on a Glue Glider Pro and refills!
Just sayin'.

SBS Jude & the Rockers Preview Days 2 & 3...

Yep... I'm behind a day already.  I've been out of town since Wednesday, but it was for a couple of awesome events.  The first was for the Intermediate Copic Certification class in Wichita, Kansas and the second was the annual seminar for The Angel Company, for which I am an instructor & demonstrator.  Needless to say I'm a wee bit fried.  BUT it was a fabulous time!

So now, to catch up with the Simply Betty Stamps Jude & the Rockers release previews!  Monday was supposed to be Ariel:

Sassy, huh?  Don't you love the glasses & the eyebrow piercing?!  Adorable me thinks.

And Tuesday's preview:  Brittany!  She just so happens to be my absolute favorite of the entire line... which was hard to choose, since they are all freakin' adorable.

That hair... ACK!  LOVE, LOVE, LOVE her.  And she's not the least bit creepy (dammit!)... am I losing my mind?!

Coloring this little cutie was a blast... so much so, that I am teaching a class with Brittany, Ariel and one more future preview image at The Scrapbook Page in August :)  Can't wait!

Since I'm behind, I will not be able to get Wednesday's preview card completed, so hopefully Thursday will have another 2-for-1 post ;)  Don't forget to pop into Simply Betty Stamps blog to see what the rest of the DT created... they are fab!

SBS Jude & the Rockers Preview Day 1...

This new Jude & the Rockers line from Simply Betty Stamps will be available only in Clear Stamp form. Their official release is Friday, July 1st along with a re-launch of SBS's weekly challenges over at Simply Betty Challenges! One week will be dedicated to card makers and the other week to scrapbookers, altered art lovers, and everything else! I do hope you will join us for the fun!

So, on to today's preview... Jude!

How kickin' is he?! So cute... and I just love that hair :) I used a little May Arts webbie trim and the clip is from We R. The paper is from the Old School line of paper from a company that I can't remember :) It's one of the big ones, though.

Anyway, this little guy was a blast to color with his slouchy pants and that spiked 'do... he DOES rock :)

Be sure to pop over to the Simply Betty Stamps main blog to see what the rest of the DT did with this cutie...

and then tune in every day this week for a new image preview!

Fiendishly Fun Friday - pumpkin carving extraordinaire!

I recently came across the wondrous creations of Roy Villafane, all carved from pumpkins and gourds. Impressive, no? And no, they're not preserved in any way, just like yours, these decay and rot after a week or so! :o

6.23.2011

Better late than never HDH094

I'm a day late for my Wicked Wednesday
installment of this week's Macabre Monday challenge.
"I want to see Menacing Mermaids!", shrieked the
Masterful Mistress. And the Minions made it so.

I remember a few years back, I took my son to see
a Peter Pan movie. They had Mermaids in that movie.
Some of the scariest freaking Mermaids ever! My son still
talks about those, "nasty fish chicks".

I had the recent pleasure of doing business with
Teresa, from Crafts and Me.
She is an awesome lady, and a stellar business owner.
There was a hold up with her stamp manufacturer for the
new Jasmine Becket Griffith images, and as a thank you
for my patience, she gifted me some digital images from her shop.

I chose the "Columbine" image with this week's challenge in mind.
I think she's a bit on the menacing side. Did ya check out her ears?!
This gorgeous image was a bit challenging to color, but I am happy
with how she turned out.

I used some Sweet Pea webbed ribbon I got on clearance at
Hambo Stamps. All of their May Arts ribbons are 50% off!!
I also used my new Spellbinders Fleur de Lis rectangles
and some crazy ass, Dee Gruenig paper I've had forever!

Feel free to join us, if you dare!
Enter your most Menacing Mermaid
here by Sunday the 26th.
