SBS 50's Emos Preview Day 5

Here's one for the guys!  Can't you just hear "Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey" in the background?!

50's Emo Christian:

Yep.  I went pretty traditional with this one ;)  Although, I did sneak an extra skully in there... I couldn't help it.  LOVE the shoes!  I went a little darker on the skin tone shadow (E13) and me likey!

And was hair THE thing in the 50's?  Me thinks yes.  However, this guy doesn't have that duck-butt-'do... sorry, I keep flashing back to "Grease" :)  And, yes, I had to add the blue streak in his hair... he IS an EMO after all.

Tomorrow is Release Day!  And just wait until you see what I "cooked" up for you >:)
Don't forget to stop by the Simply Betty Stamps blog to see what the rest of the DT has been up to!

Dali Delusions Macabre Monday offering

When I first read the idea of a Salvador Dali inspired
challenge I was very intrigued and immediately began
designing (in my head) my project.

I opted for a mixed media kind of project, using
various Dali images and quotes.

I used an 8" x 10" stretched canvas, painted with metallic
shades of teal, silver, purple, and black.

I knew this Dali image from The Octopode Factory would come in handy.
I also found a use for some creepy doll eyes, and destashed a bunch
of brads.

The melting clock is another Octopode image. I used Glossy Accents
to make the watch face shiny and dimensional. I added a
photo of Dali and Walt Disney, a couple of cool quotes and
some decoupaged mulberry paper.
I used more quotes around the outside of the canvas and sealed
everything with polyurethane.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you were able to glean some
inspiration for your own project.
You have until Sunday at 10 PM CST to enter!

For those of you new to Haunted Design House, I'd like to let you know about my "normal" blog:
Most of my creepiness is here at HDH, but if you need a shot of nice & normal, you can head over that way :)  In fact, today I posted some lovely mythical creature cards... they might be up your alley... in a not-so-creepy way ;)

SBS Teen Scene - Release Day!

It's finally here :)  The Simply Betty Stamps DT girls are doing a little hop to show off the last of the new Teen Scene rubber stamp images!  So, if you've arrived from Guest DT Lisa's blog, then you are on the right track... if not, be sure to start at the Simply Betty Stamps blog for details on how to get these awesome images at a discount... or even FREE!

Today we're showcasing Teen Scene Chaos & Christian:

Gotta love that little lizard hangin' off of the skateboard!

This image is perfect for a tween, teenager, young adult... or if your man is like mine:  eternal kid-at-heart kinda guy :)

And check it... I used yet another of Creepy Glowbugg's GlowSkullz!!  I just love those little things :)  A little MS edge punch action, a retired TAC sentiment stamp, Copic markers, Neenah & Bazzill cardstocks, and some fun paper from my stash and it's a wrap.

Your next stop on this Teen Scene creative ride is Carla!  Be sure to hop by everyone's blogs... there is so much creativity & inspiration :)

Happy Birthday to The Agent of the Abominable... Andrea!

That's right folks, today we celebrate the birth of one of HDH's Macabre Minions, Andrea!  Happy birthday, girl!  Obviously you haven't received your card yet, since I haven't sent it, but maybe me posting it today will be of some comfort :)

Who DOESN'T want a cocktail on their birthday?  Come on... at least one, right?  I just LOVE this Tickled Pink image, Lilith... and I thought the look on her face summed up what many of us feel about birthdays :)

Not that Andrea feels that way, but you know what I'm sayin'.

I hope your day was fantastic, Andrea... thanks for all you do here at HDH, and have a cocktail on me!

SBS Teen Scene - Preview Day 4

Have you been checking out the awesomeness that the rest of the Simply Betty Stamps DT has been up to this week?  Very cute with just a touch of creep... I mean if you HAVE to be cute, at least you can add a skull or bat here and there, right?  :)

Today, the girls and I are showcasing Betty & Batty... they really are sweet.

I kept it super simple today, using a couple Martha Stewart papers, red grosgrain & a little epoxy bat from Recollections.

I think this image really is the cutest out of the lot... but how sweet CAN she be if she's holding a bat, right?  Not to mention the skulls on her skirt, shoe & hairband.  They make me smile.
:)
See?
Beware of the cuteness.

Tomorrow will be another preview, and then Friday is Release Day where you can get your grubby mitts on these images for yourself!  Be sure to check back!

And have we scared everyone off from the HDH challenge this week... or is it a toughie?  I've got a ton of schtuff going on this week, so I might not be able to play along... but I hope you can!

First up, London & Lynx:

Don't you LOVE that curly hair?!  And her blouse is so cute with the little skully.

At first I was going to make her a redhead... but I do that soooo much, I opted for a nice limey yellow-green this time.  And nothing finishes off an outfit like an orange bead-studded choker, right?  ;)

That's it for today folks... be sure to keep checking back & pop over to Simply Betty Stamps blog to see more of London & Lynx!

Oh!  And HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!
