Fiendishly Fun Friday: Pushin Daisies

I stumbled across this fabulously fun online shop, Pushin Daisies,  while surfing the net awhile back.  It was started by a licensed funeral director... so it's GOT to be good, right?

There are so many awesome finds, that I can't show them all here... you'll just have to go check them out yourself!  But here are few choice gems:

Yard art just got more fun :)

How's this for a wedding cake topper?!

Nothing says chocolate like a skeleton in a coffin, right?

Me thinks these ice trays are a MUST!

And a whole page of skull items... especially love the skull grapes :)
And the poison casket ring really gives me the warm fuzzies.

Giftie giving just got easier :)

SBS Sweet Gothic Kids Easter - Preview Day 5

Here is my other Preview card this week... SGK Easter Tilly!  She's really pushin' my cuteness threshold, but you HAVE to love the little bitty spiders on her umbrella, right?!  :)

And to push that fantabulously adorable button again, check out the sentiment... sshhhhh, don't spread this around, but it kinda makes me smile...
:)
See?
It's a retired stamp from The Angel Company.

I KNOW... right?  I found this awesome paper in my stash, but I can't remember who makes it... maybe I'll come back and edit this when I figure it out... but then, maybe not :)  Looks like a windy, dark sky to me.

Pop by the Simply Betty Stamps Challenge blog to see the rest of the DT's creations, and definitely on Friday... RELEASE DAY!

And no, I haven't forgotten about my HDH081 Macabre Monday challenge card... you'll be getting an EYEFUL soon ;)... stay tuned!

Wicked Wednesday and some winners!!

Welcome to another exciting installment of
Wicked Wednesday!

First off, I'd like to congratulate our winners from
last week's "Alas, poor Yorick" challenge.
Katt was our Master of the Macabre with her awesome
Day of the Dead Kenny K  girl. Awesome job Katt!
And, I'd also like to offer up a single item of their choice
to each of the Gruesome Twosome,
Lady B for her brilliant 3-D steampunk skull and
CGRA with her insane skull moth.
Please contact me with your choice of prize from the
Creepy Glowbugg Etsy Shoppe.

This week's Macabre Monday challenge is
Dastardly Divas.
What that means is we want to see your femme fatales,
your homicidal hotties, and your buxom bad asses!!

This week's challenge is being sponsored by

She has quite an assortment of digital goodies from
digi images to tubes and clip art in her online store.
Barbara was generous enough to let the DT play with this
gorgeous Poison Ivy image from her digital image line.

For some reason when I first saw this image I immediately
envisioned her as some sort of alien Amazon woman.
Hence the violet skin and the blue hair.

I added some new (to me) Sizzix leaves and a new
fleur from Wild Orchids that I colored slightly to match.

I felt this fleur was a bit more exotic  and unique than the normal
roses or flat, petaled fleurs I usually use.

This week's sponsor, Barbara Jensen has offered up three
digital images of your choice as this week's prize.
You can't win if you don't play!

Well, you know me... I had to go all Halloweenie on this release, too ;)  This is Judy, and she is my FAVE of the release!  Sweet, sassy, and lookin' a bit like a Playboy Bunny, no?

She was VERY fun to color, and can I say that I LOVE my colorless blender Copic marker?!  L.O.V.E.  It's so easy to get those eye highlights to look fabulously shiny :)
And my new favorite Copic hair color... YR24, YR23, YR21
I've been using that for blonde hair for awhile, but I'm liking it more and more.

Paper:  Heebie Jeebies line from ??, Neenah & Bazzill cardstocks
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo, Burnt Umber Palette

Macabre Monday HDH081 - Dastardly Divas

HDH Macabre Monday Rules:
1. Create a dark and macabre SOMETHING (card, scrap page, altered item, whatever) that follows the specific Macabre Monday challenge given. Cutesy is fine, but creepy is better :)
2. You have until the following Sunday night @ 5pm central time to post your creation and please leave a direct-link back here. Please make sure that your blog post / upload has been made AFTER the challenge date... we wanna see fresh stuff, not those from a few weeks ago!!
3. If you upload to any online galleries (TACPCC, S&S, PCP, SCS, etc.), please tag the title using HDH081.
4. Weekly giveaways! Some weeks will be loaded with loot, others not-so-much... but the thrill is in the win, right?! Some prizes shall be by random drawing, others hand picked... and I'm not telling you ahead of time :)
5. We'll be selecting a weekly Gruesome Twosome (our top two favorite creations) from all the players. At the end of every month these will be compiled and a Master of Macabre will be selected and will receive a little giftie from Barb... this could be stamp sets, handmade items, papers, halloweenie embellishments... you just never know.
Ok, my little pretties... your challenge this week:
"Dastardly Divas!"
You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween-based project that includes a diva.
We want to see women who still look fabulous even when performing acts so vile and vicious that Dracula himself would blush. Lipgloss and bloodlust, it's a winning combination!
We also have the PERFECT sponsor for this challenge! Barbara Jensen is an artist who creates digi stamps, clip art, tubes and other exquisite goodies to play with. The winner of this challenge will be chosen by Barbara herself, and you'll get to choose any THREE of her digi stamps as your prize! You can see her digi stamps and clip art HERE and she also has a store where she sells personal use tubes and sig tags for those of you who like to work digitally, see those HERE. Just don't blame us if you have to buy several of them before the challenge even closes, because there are some seriously kick-ass divas in the store!

And now... check out what the Macabre Minions have been up to... strangely enough, all our hubbies were paying rather more attention than normal to this week's creations, I can't think why! :P

A big THANKS and Alas, Poor Yorick... ala Barb

Thanks so much to everyone for their wonderful birthday wishes!  And even though I commented on the Minions blogs, I want to thank them here, too... you guys are awesome!  Not just because of the fantabulousness that has been retrieved from my mailbox as of late (which IS pretty effing awesome by the way), but for all the inspiration you guys give me and to all of our readers here at HDH!

So here is my warm-fuzzy moment:
You are the dank to my dungeon, the ooze to my swamp, and the screams to my banshees :)
Love ya' ghouls!

And now, back to our regularly scheduled post:

After seeing what the Macabre Minions created for this week's challenge, I don't know if I should even post my puny little card... wasn't Creepy Glowbugg's mask effing awesome?! And what about Lynx's skully goodness?  I'd like to put in my request for my very own glow-in-the-dark eyeball please :) Thanks.

Well. Here it is. My no-layer card! Yep... that's right. Only the kraft card base & ink, baby:

Stamps: skulls (Artful Illusions), sentiment (Smeared Ink), splotches (something from JoAnn's... cling mount)
Other: Copic markers

Still a couple more days to play along with this week's Macabre Monday Challenge #HDH080!! $20 voucher to Creepy Glowbugg's Etsy store is up for grabs!!!

3.18.2011

On this day...

... our Masterful Mistress was born.

Happiest of Birthday wishes to you Barb!!

Yup, yup, yup! Today is Barb's birthday!!!
And not just any birthday either.
Shhh.... she's fifty. I mean forty!!!!
Either way it's gonna hurt.

On behalf of all of the Minions,
I'd like to wish you a simply glorious day
filled with good friends, good family, and a little YOU time.

I cannot leave without one last dig.
"Sag! You're it!"

Thrashed Out Thursday

Well it looks like Wicked Wednesday has now
turned into Thrashed out Thursday.
I am whoooped!!! Too much fun playing with clay this
week, and I am pretty happy with most of the results.

Here is my offering for Macabre Monday's
"Alas, poor Yorick" challenge of using skulls.

This is really only one skull, but I had to get the idea out of my head
and into a three dimensional project.

So, I took one of those cheapy paper mache masks
from Mike's and painted it white and then painted
glow in the dark paint over that. Then for the moment of
no return, I had to cut the hole in the skull.
Since it's paper it cut like buttah, with a little sawing motion.

I added some pearled paints in silver and blue
to add some shadow to the face. I then painted the cracks
for a little more interest. I'm thinking I may go back
and add some detail to the teeth so they show up a bit.

I made three evil fingers and one blinded eyeball out
of polymer clay that glows in the dark.
After adding the paint for the shading and detail to the fingers,
it covered too much of the gid clay, but the finger nails and that eyeball
are quite luminescent.
Another of my loves in life is glow in the dark
schtuff.

Well, I hope you like my version of "Poor Yorick".
There are a few more days to enter this challenge
which has literally no competition this week.
I'm thinking it's all you Allison!

choice from my Etsy shoppe just by stopping by and leaving
a comment as to your favorite item in the shoppe.

Devious Digital Demon-ess Susan:
HDH080 Skulls by Susan
I don't know why Susan decided not to use any skulls
on her project, but it is lovely just the same. LOL!

Now, how about you, my little pretties?? Are you up for the challenge this week?

Just for the fun of it...

This card has been done for a while and I just never posted it:

Daniel Torrente's "Kitty" & "Eric" from Stampotique.  This card has no foof... not much of anything really.  A little Scor-Bug action and some Copics... that's it.

Doesn't Eric's shirt remind you of Captain Kirk's from Star Trek? :)  And I can't believe I colored his skin so close to the background color... it looks like I used lavender cardstock on him, right?

Here kitty kitty kitty... he looks a little worse-for-wear doesn't he?

Just a bit of Sunday fun.  Hope your weekend was a good one!

3.11.2011

A Celebratory Romp...

... sounds kinda dirty, doesn't it?  ;)  MUCH more fun than just a mere birthday bloghop, no?  Me & a couple of the Minions are doing a little Fiendishly Festive Friday Frolic to honor the Devious Digital Demoness' birthday today, Susan!  Susan does SO much for HDH, from writing up the challenge posts, to finding WONDERFUL little gems for Fiendishly Fun Fridays, to cracking us up with comments and suggestions.  We love ya' baby!

I know this little card isn't much, and of course you won't be receiving it in the mail today, but you will eventually!  I had hoped to create some bit of awesomeness like Creepy Glowbugg, but time once again slipped away from me... and she has all of that natural talent an all :P

All of the stamps are from The Angel Company, Palette inks, EK Success edger punch, Cricut diecut fence & of course... Stickles.  Susan loves purple and sparkly things, so there you go :)

Happy Birthday, Susan!  I hope today  is as awesome as you are!

Now, if you'd like to see what some of the others have made for Susan:

SBS Challenge: Let's Celebrate!

Yep, it's Friday, so it's time for another Simply Betty Stamps Challenge!
Our challenge is using any SBS image: anything Birthday of course!  Three lucky winners will be chosen to receive TWO Sweet Gothic Kids Rubber Stamps (the link is for the digi listing, but you can see the images!).  For exact details and the challenge linky, please go to the
SBS Challenge blog.

Now, my project today is actually a gift bag hang tag... and it's a biggie :)  Probably about 9" tall me thinks.  BUT I was trying to use up scraps without having to cut much... I'm lazy like that sometimes ;)  What is nice is that this also qualifies for my HDH MACABRE MONDAY Body Bags & Toe Tags challenge for this week!  Yeah, I KNOW... I got to play along after all :)

This is Alex... my favorite of the SGK Birthday images... I can't wait for you to see the Easter ones.
O.M.G. Becky... they are sooooo cute!  But you'll just have to way a week or so for those

{insert sinister laugh here}

Digi (and now rubber!):  Sweet Gothic World Kids - Birthday Alex
Rubber stamps (The Angel Company):  Background Soup, Great Greetings
Paper Caboodle white, DCWV purple & grey cardstocks
Ink Palette Noir
Other Bat Nesties, black ribbon, Tim Holtz & Cuttlebug embossing folders,
GlowSkullz, Copic markers

And come back a little later this morning around 8 or 9am... there is more fun to be had ;)

Wicked Wednesday!!!!

This edition of Wicked Wednesday is a bit
tardy as it is "Zombie Week" on the Chiller channel
and I am easily distracted by the undead.

For this week's Macabre Monday challenge of
"Toe Tags and Body Bags",
we are to design a tag or a bag with a creepy
twist.

I went with tags.

I had fun decoupaging this one with various
images, stamps, mulberry papers, and a charm.

This was a digital tag that I embossed and cracked.
I also added a handmade coffin charm and some fibers.

Here is a good picture of the iridescent embossing
and the cracked glass effect.

Drop by my blog for more info on these tags
and a heads up regarding the next
Macabre Monday challenge.

Now get busy and make some
unorthodox tags and bags!!!!
You have until this Sunday at 10PM CST.
