Macabre Monday #022 - Fallen Angel

Welcome to Haunted Design House's Macabre Monday challenge!

HDH Macabre Monday Rules:
1. Create a Halloweenie SOMETHING (card, scrap page, altered item, whatever) that follows the specific Macabre Monday challenge given. Cutesy is fine, but creepy is better :)
2. You have until the following Sunday night @ 5pm central time to post your creation and linky back here.
3. If you upload to any online galleries (TACPCC, PW, PCP, SCS, etc.), please tag the title using HDH022.
4. Weekly giveaways!  Some weeks will be loaded with loot, others not-so-much... but the thrill is in the win, right?!  Some prizes shall be by random drawing, others hand picked... and I'm not telling you ahead of time :)
5. I'll be selecting a weekly Gruesome Twosome (my top two favorite creations) from all the players. At the end of every month these will be compiled and a Master of Macabre will be selected. He/she will be asked to be a guest blogger for the following month, if they so wish, and receive a little giftie from me... this could be stamp sets, handmade items, papers, halloweenie embellishments... you just never know.

Ok, my little pretties... your challenge this week:
Fallen Angel

You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween page, project or card using images of Angels from the darksideCreepy, cool or cute... they just need have a touch of the angelic about them :)

This week is sponsored by Stamp It Crazy again!  Yep, the winner this week will receive this creepy cool winged rubber stamp, unmounted, from Barb at SIC.  I'll confess, as soon as I ripped open my package this week, I couldn't wait to ink her up!  I used to think that THIS image was my favorite from SIC, but the one from today is definitely my fav of the moment!!!

And look... I finished my card BEFORE I posted the challenge!  I'm on a roll :)  Oh man, I probably just TOTALLY jinxed myself.

Isn't she awesome?  I couldn't decide what color her outfit should be, so I'll be making more soon :)  I went with this little pink number today... and how fitting that Valentine's Day will be coming up soon.  Doesn't she look wistful?  Or maybe broken-hearted.  Oh the possibilities :)

Stamps:  MS182 (Stamp It Crazy... page down a little), From A-Z (TAC... retired)
Other:  Copics, Crystal Lacquer, distresser, sanding block

The Crystal Lacquer makes her boots, skirt & sleeves look like vinyl-wear... me likey :)  I mean, not for ME to wear, but she pulls it off nicely ;)

Ok, I had problems whittling down to two favorites for the last challenge... as usual... you guys are awesome!  So, just this once, I picked three :)

HDH021 - Eerie Elegance Gruesome ThreesomeNans for her dreamy moonlit lady, and Melisa for her beautiful blood red skelly card, and Terra for her ghoulish couple in love.  Please grab your GT badge from the sidebar ladies and linky it back to here!  We want to get some more players to join the fun!

And the random draw winner for week HDH021, who will receive the awesome prize pack from Oz is... Alex!!!  Alex, please email me your address and I'll forward that to Oz :)  Thanks again, Oz, for sponsoring!!

1.16.2010

Dude! Why didn't someone remind me...

... to draw a winner for Stamp It Crazy's Moon Fairie stamp from HDH020?!  Seriously, who's turn was it to babysit me... you guys are slippin' ;)

{drum roll}

Doot doot doot doooooo...........Melisa!  Winner!  Winner! Chicken Dinner!  Melisa, please email me your address so that I may forward it to Barb at Stamp It Crazy, and she'll send you out that unmounted image.  Thanks again, Barb, for sponsoring!

Yes, it was all very scientific... I wrote the participants' names on slips of paper and drew from a jar.  I am soooooo high tech here :)
.

1.15.2010

Hellllllooooooooooooo?

Only 2-1/2 more days left for this challenge and chance at the giveaway!   Just a friendly reminder... that's just how I roll :)

Movie Alert on Chiller!!!

Alert:  Killer Klowns from Outer Space is on the Chiller channel right now (10:00pm central)!!

Eerie Elegance

Well, here my take on HDH021... in all it's sucky photographic glory.  No matter what I did, I could not take a decent photo to save my life... yep, that's right... dead woman writin'.

At any rate, I loved Oz's challenge card last week so much... it inspired me to get the ol' heat gun out!

It really looks better in person.  I heat embossed the black card base with clear EP... overheating parts here and there to give a distressed look.  Then spritzed on a deep violet Glimmer Mist and wiped off immediately.

Stamps:  sentiment (Stampendous or Hero Arts... can't remember!), From the Crypt (SU!)
Paper:  black PTI cardstock
Ink:  VersaMark
Other:  Transcendence embossing powder, Haunted Shadow Glimmer Mist, EK Success edger punch, circle punch, misc. fatty satin ribbon

Super simple & kinda grown up, no?
What have YOU been working on?!

This week's challenge is sponsored by our very own Oz!  How sweet is this prize pack?!  Thanks, Oz... you are the best!  But I hope that doesn't mean that you aren't going to play this week, we always LOVE seeing what you create.

I've got my card finished, but the photos are way too sucky... and not in a good way!  I'm hoping to snap some quick pics before work tomorrow and upload tomorrow night.

More love and another Challenge Alert!

I posted a little lovely on my other blog... more black with a shot of red love card.  In case you're up for it :)

But what I really wanted to tell you guys, is about the card challenge over at Stamp It Crazy's new blog!  Barb is giving away a $25 gift certificate for her store... go HERE for details!  The challenge isn't dark or halloweenie, but I'm sure you Pepsi lovers (blech!) will have no problems!

Dark Love

So I've had these glittery black chipboard letters for OVER A YEAR, and figured I should use some :)  It's been kinda blah here lately, with the sun only peeking out for a few, so I thought I'd take advantage of my dark mood.

It's kinda Twilight-ish, maybe?  I don't know since I STILL haven't seen the movies or read the books.  I KNOW!  Crazy, for a lover of all that is macabre... especially vampires.

The black netting used to hold some glass pebbles... I cut it apart and tied it together with some black Scrapper's FlossRecycling gone goth?  ;)  The flower is Bazzill & the spider is confetti.

Super simple and easy and not very creative, but you've got to have those projects from time-to-time!

What do you think?

Ok, my little pretties... your challenge this week:
Bubble Bubble Toil & Trouble:  Use These Ingredients

For this week's challenge, you are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween page, project or card using the following ingredients: colors - violet, blue, & copper; a flourish, ribbon & image of your choice.  You may ADD to this list of ingredients, but you must use ALL that are listed above.

BONUS:  This week's challenge is sponsored by Stamp It Crazy!  If you haven't visited this site, you really should... very cool images at VERY reasonable prices, quick shipping, and the owner is so nice!  Barb from Stamp It Crazy will send this week's random drawing winner the MoonFairie stamp I've used in my challenge card!

I actually completed my challenge already!  Hard to believe, I know... GASP!  I'll wait for you to pick yourself up off the floor...
...
...
...

Stamps:  MoonFairie (StampItCrazy)
Paper:  Bazzill & White Ultrasmooth (TAC)
Ink:  Cognac, Prussian Blue & Violete Palettes, Cosmic Copper Brilliance
Other:  Grungeboard flourishes (Tim Holtz), MM gems, Scor-Bug, Stickles, & misc. ribbon

After coloring the fairie's wings & cutting out the image, I covered her in Stickles.  I used Diamond on her wings & two Distressed Stickles on her body & hair.  It really looks so much cooler in person.  Both the moon & fairie are popped up on foam tape.

I sponged the moon with Cognac & then rubbed the copper over the filigree area.  I also loosely covered the flourishes with the copper ink.

I had fun with this challenge & I hope you do too... let's get some participation this week!  Don't forget... there will be a drawing for a freebie!

The month of December is a busy one... and it is abundantly clear by the challenge participation ;)  I didn't even get one done for HDH018!  And we had TWO WEEKS to do it... what a slacker I am.  So, the Gruesome Twosome for the last two challenges:
