Doot doo doo doo! [trumpet sounding...]

As promised! Look at this little Halloweenie card... isn't it cute? I used not one, but TWO types of ribbon from my Paperlicious goodie package... AND I made TWO of these cards! [must keep one for myself!]. Here are the details:

Stamps: Spooky Swirls, and Boo! (current GWP stamp!)
Paper: White UltraSmooth CS, black CS, DCWV Flora-2 CS
Ink: Noir, Orangerie, Jardin Moss, & New Canvas Palette inks, VersaMark Pen
Coloring medium/Technique: heat embossed pewter EP, used VersaMark Pen to color around ghost and then applied Jewel Tone Iridescent chalks (Pebbles Inc.)
Bling: Paperlicious Ribbon, Black Scrapper's Floss, TAC Essential Elements (tab)
Misc.: Scor-Pal, Cuttlebug embossing folder, sanding block, edge distresser, & foam tape

If you ever have ANY questions on how I did something or what I used, please feel free to email me or leave a comment! Thanks for visiting!

Yes, I know Halloween is 5 months away, but...

OMG OMG OMG! I have a new love... Black Magic ColorCore Cardstock by core'dinations. It is quite possibly the most perfect cardstock for all that is Halloween. I just got it today and had to do something with it! This is not my best work, but I love it anyway because it uses one of my all time favorite (retired, dang it!) TAC stamp sets: Haunted. Isn't the house awesome? The sentiment is TAC's Happy Haunting (current), Noir & Water Lilly Green Palette inks, DCWV card base, some misc. funky orangy-yellow cardstock, Cuttlebug embossing folder, and a ripped strip of cotton (old pillow case).

So what do you think?

Halloween already?

Thought I'd share my 1st prize winner from Saturday! There are several different stamp companies represented in addition to TAC, and I'm embarrassed to say that I don't know the names, but I'm sharing anyway! I purchased several of them at past stamp conventions, and half the time they don't put a card or anything in the bag with their name on it.

I think the tree is from Stamp Oasis, the creepy skeleton scene is one I got from Ebay, the broom is from BattleAxe, 'Believe in Magic' is from Viva Las Vegas, spider web and bats are from TAC. The crow and tombstones are from the same place (convention), and the 'If the broom fits...ride it' is another convention stamp.

Majority of the ribbon is from Martha Stewart, Target, and some misc. fiber. Scrapper's floss and Stickles are absolute musts! Transparent tags & fence from MM, and 'creepy crawly' tag is I-kandee. I dyed the shipping tag with Terra Cotta spray ink. VersaMark, Noir Palette, and Moonlight White Brilliance were the inks. I need to check to see who manufactured all the papers...

I really like this! What do you think?

All Hallows' Eve 2007

Just a few pics from tonight... we had quite a few kids come by... and a couple that stayed on the sidewalk or walked across the street instead [insert evil laugh here].

One more night...

I made these two cards w/ a brass stencil and translucent embossing paste. After applying the paste on the second one, I took a stipple brush & 'flicked' out the edges... turned out kinda creepy... me likey! After the paste dried, I brayered over the orange cardstock w/ black ink & quickly wiped it off of the image. Tore a couple of edges, layered it up, a little stamp here (Running Stitches), a little stamp there(Boo Bash), and voila! What do you think? Please leave me a comment!

What a day....

I am soooooooo ready for Halloween, as you can tell by the cards above that I created for my monthly class.

So, back to my day. They are still re-roofing our office building and today it reeked sooooo bad that I called the boss, and I must have whined enough because he said to take the laptop home to work on my residential projects. I don't know how those roofing guys stand it all day long, day after day. I think my lungs would explode... but then again, I am a bit of a wussy. Although, my male co-worker must be one too, because he was more than happy to work from home, too!

[heee hee, I called Mikey a wussy]

I actually got quite a bit of work done... I think it is because there aren't as many distractions here. You know, like the phone ringing, roofers hammering and dropping crap just above you, and co-workers acting like little brothers. If it gets bad tomorrow, though, I don't know that the boss will give in again.

Anyway, I also uploaded a canvas that I did as a tribute to my grampa. He has been a carpenter forever! I'm going to hang it up in my living room as soon as I figure out where everything should go. I just haven't made myself hang anything up yet (we just finished putting in slate floor & painted the walls). Sometime in the next month is HAS TO HAPPEN!

That's it for now, and I'll leave you with another Halloween card we did last month using bleach:
