50's Emo Betty:

I HAD to ghoul this one up!  Betty is just so happy rolling around on her skully skates... and why shouldn't she be smiling?  Nothing is better than a little brain burger, right?

Yes, our awesome Creepy Glowbugg made some custom GlowBwainz for me :)  Thanks, Glo!  As soon as I saw this image I knew I had to have 50's Betty serving up a little sumpin' sumpin' "off menu" so-to-speak :)

That's it for this week's release!  Don't forget to check out what the rest of the DT has done with this image!  Enjoy!

card recipe:
image:  50's Emo Betty (SBS)
sentiment:  More Bone Appetit (TAC)
paper:  Bazzill & Neenah cardstocks, patterned paper from stash (can't remember)

HDH090 - Necro Neckware

HDH Macabre Monday Rules:

1. Create a dark and macabre SOMETHING (card, scrap page, altered item, whatever) that follows the specific Macabre Monday challenge given. Cutesy is fine, but creepy is better :)

2. You have until the following Sunday night @ 5pm central time to post your creation and please leave a direct-link back here. Please make sure that your blog post / upload has been made AFTER the challenge date... we wanna see fresh stuff, not those from a few weeks ago!!

3. If you upload to any online galleries (TACPCC, S&S, PCP, SCS, etc.), please tag the title using HDH090.

4. Weekly giveaways! Some weeks will be loaded with loot, others not-so-much... but the thrill is in the win, right?! Some prizes shall be by random drawing, others hand picked... and I'm not telling you ahead of time :)

5. We'll be selecting a weekly Gruesome Twosome (our top two favorite creations) from all the players. At the end of every month these will be compiled and a Master of Macabre will be selected and will receive a little giftie from Barb... this could be stamp sets, handmade items, papers, halloweenie embellishments... you just never know.

Ok, macabre fans... your challenge this week:

"Necro Neckware"

You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween-based art piece that could be turned into a pendant! Everyone is encouraged to play along for fun and Gruesome Twosome status, but their own original artwork is necessary to win the prize. And WHAT A PRIZE IT IS!

Crafts & Me

This week is sponsored by Kasket Kustoms: Accessories to DIE for!

Submit the next Kasket Kustoms necklace design and win a little something from the shop PLUS a necklace of your design! Fan-freakin'-tastic... thanks so much, Kasket Kustoms! :) HERE is a current favorite of mine... although THIS ONE is a close 2nd!

Sultana of the Sinister Lynx:

Steampunk skull... LOVE it, Lynx!! And the broaches and charms look great!

Creepy Cricut Cween Donna:

Such a cute little skully kitty... all the way down to his red heart :)

Agent of the Abominable Andrea:

Another painting! LOVE all of the zombie dollies, Andrea!

Temptress of Terror Teri:

Bold & distinctive! Beautiful gargoyle piece, Teri!

Wicked Wednesday HDH087 Freaker's Free for All!!!

This week's challenge is one of my favorites,
Freaker's Free for all!
What this means at HDH is whatever bizarre, unsavory, unnerving,
bit of strangeness you can muster, just might win you a title!
If you have a project that doesn't really fit any other challenge blog
criteria, we want you!!

That being said, I have a couple of (finally) finished
projects to share with you.

I have added more gourds to my garden.
I love the "Fairy Tale" punkins and always
make a mummy or Jack Skellington every year
out of their sickly white flesh.

More happy Jacks awaiting a new home.
New listings are going up today/tomorrow on Etsy

The sTeaMpUnKinS are all fired up and ready to
start chugging along towards Autumn.

And finally, my lovely cherubs.
I am so stoked with how these turned out! I know they are
a bit offensive when my husband (is that thumping I hear?)
is not a fan! Yeah! Mission accomplished!!

Aww! Isn't he just an angel?

So, I'm thinking lapel pins for the smaller ones and this
big guy gets a couple of magnets so he can oversee
the happenings in the kitchen.

Bring out yer dead, your decomposed, your unmentionables!
Just play along with us this week at Haunted Design House!!

Happy Birthday to the Creepy Cricut Cween, Donna!!

Yep, it's CCC Donna's birthday today.  We don't know how old she is, because she said that a lady never tells... hmmmmm... I don't see no ladies around here... but we'll just go with it :)

I made you a card, Donna, and I'm hoping it will get to you by tomorrow or the next day.  So this might spoil it, but you'll just have to suck it up!

Great sentiment, right?  PERFECT for Donna, me thinks... especially since she IS so FABULOUS.  That's right, Donna, I said it... in that non-hoity-toity kind of way ;)

The image is from Stampotique, the sentiment is from Missy B's, the edge punch is EK Success, the ribbon is from Michael's dollar bin (oh yes... yes it is... and it is delightful), and the AWESOME silver background is some wallpaper that Creepy Glowbugg sent to me.  LOVE IT!

I know I'm stretching it a bit, but this card uses the SDC#29 sketch over at the Stampotique challenge blog.  I used Daniel Torrente's Prom Queen for the 1st rectangle, and I rotated the 2nd rectangle for the sentiment... is that allowed?!  The ribbon & punched edge serve as the horizontal element in the sketch.

There you have it.  Happy Birthday, Donna!  I hope it was the best one yet :)

SBS Summer Zombie Previews - Betty

DISCLAIMER This is one bright-ass card.  I'm just sayin'.
It is so sunshiney, that my skin is starting to blister just looking at it :)

I have crawled so far out of my box, that I may never find my way back... the one saving grace is that the card has a zombie on it.  :)  Otherwise you might have thought some sweet & cheery people went all willy-nilly with the HDH blog and had the Minions and I tucked away in the dungeon, right?

Sorry... tangent... on to the Summer Zombie Betty preview!

I know, right?  I must say that the iced brain cream cone is pretty awesome.

I went with the bright green, Frankenstein-esque skin tone for this one.  And that is one brassy bleach job she had done... just sayin'.

Wanna see some more Summer Zombie Betty?  Pop on over to the Simply Betty Stamps Blog for photos and links.  And don't forget that there will be two more Summer Zombies to go & Friday is Release Day, where you'll be able to get your mitts on these zombies yourself!

Ok, macabre fans... your challenge this week:

"Alone in the Dark"

You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween-based project using a black or eerily dark background for your main image.

We like THIS side of Teri's Delicious Doodles :)
We're sponsored by The Temptress of Terror herself, Teri of Delicious Doodles! Teri has some mainstream images, but our HDH hearts swoon for those dark & Gothic beauties that she wows us with week after week! I'll come back to edit this post with the exact amount of the prize, but just know that it will DEFINITELY be worth playing along this week!! :)

So let's see what the Minions have created to represent the deliciously dark Delicious Doodles:

Sultana of the Sinister Lynx:
Fantastic black/white project! And although Lynx didn't use a Delicious Doodles image, we still love her :)

Creepy Cricut Cween Donna:
Grim Reaper... fab-u-lous! Another bit of b/w beautimousness!

Cadaverous Concoctor of Chaos Creepy Glowbugg
will be posting on Wednesdays, so check back later this week!!

Devious Digital Demon-ess Susan:
Gorgeous work, Susan!!! Love all of the layers and details, and the colors are fab.

Agent of the Abominable Andrea:
Double the fun! Both of these digital works are truly awesome!

Temptress of Terror Teri:
Beyond beautiful work as usual! And me thinks there will be a new image in the DD store soon... she looks great, Teri!

And now, of course, it's your turn. Show us your dark & eerie creations with a Gothic twist for a chance for some Delicious Doodles images!! If the linky tool isn't up by the time you've finished creating, please leave a comment with your url and we'll come find you :)

SBS Summer Zombie Preview Day 2 - Rio

Yep, Day 2... I missed the first day, so be sure to run over to the Simply Betty Stamps Blog for yesterday's Summer Zombie Lola!  We will be showcasing a new Summer Zombie everyday from today until Friday... which is their official release for both digi and clear stamps!

More news... once all the stamps are made into either rubber or clear form the SBS digis will be retired.  Betty will begin the retiring process in the next few weeks so make sure you grab the Emos before they go as they will be some of the first ones to be retired from digi form.  Again, for all the details regarding this, please read yesterday's post on the SBS blog.

Now, on to today's Summer Zombieness:  Summer Zombie Rio!

I know I've been doing super simple cards lately... but the images are so large that there just isn't room to foof up too much ;)  I DID manage to squeeze in one of Creepy Glowbugg's GlowSkullz... right on top of an old Heidi Swapp flower & some awesome web trim from May Arts.

Does the sentiment make sense?  Nothin' like zombified rotting fleshing baking in the sun, right?  ;)  And the perfect garnish for a fleshy margarita... a nice slice of brain... mmmm.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the DT's Summer Zombie luvin' at the main SBS blog!

They are coming to get you... well you might be redeemed if you come up with a suitably macabre zombie creation.

Now for the minions who have been definitly redeemed:

Sultana of the Sinister Lynx:

I don't know about you but I see an onslaught of nightmares but what could better make an appearance than this superior zombie doll!

Creepy Cricut Cween Donna:

As usual Donna has a winning sentiment and a supreme card.

Cadaverous Concoctor of Chaos Creepy Glowbugg
will be posting on Wednesdays, so check back later this week!!

Devious Digital Demon-ess Susan:

Good plan I have been putting it to action for years.

Agent of the Abominable Andrea:

Zombies, zombies everywhere!!

Temptress of Terror Teri:

This week Teri has drawn a zombie image but unfortunately was unable to do her usual magic and make us all jealous with her entry but if you pop along to her blog you might just catch a glimpse of this beauty coloured.

The prize this week for the winner will be the three zombie digis below:

Now, how about you, my little pretties?? Are you up for the challenge this week?

The linky tool site isn't working right now!  So if in the meantime you could leave a link in the comment window or just wait for the linky if you so desire.

Blood-thirsty Thursday, HDH078 - My Beloved Monster and other blogsite updates...

Just wanted to let everyone know that I've cleaned up the sidebar a bit and created some handy pages that can be accessed by the tabs under the blog header:
  • Halloween/Goth stamp companies:  this tab has been there for awhile now.  And if you know of some that need to be added, please email me (see sidebar for link).
  • HDH badges:  here you can find badges for Gruesome Twosomes, Master of the Macabre, as well as one plain ol' "I love Macabre Mondays".  Grab 'em if you need 'em.
  • Creepy Cool blogs:  I really need to update this list!  Again, if you know of some AWESOME Halloween blogs, let me know!
  • Our Sponsors:  this is a new one!  The sponsors kept getting pushed down the way, so I felt they needed a page all to themselves!  Thanks for helping out with some of the prizes!  If you would like to sponsor an upcoming challenge, please contact me :)
  • Dt's, stores & other cool stuff:  these are all of the other badges and links for Design Teams I'm on, guest DT spots, challenge blog links, stores I like and/or work for, etc.

I was rushing around last night, trying to button up some DT things & blog stuff, and had a couple of spare minutes to throw this card together!  Yeay!  I ACTUALLY GOT TO PLAY ALONG WITH A CHALLENGE ON MY OWN BLOG!  Oh, sorry... I guess I was screaming :)
Here is my little monstie.  Isn't he cute?  I know he's from Stampotique, but I don't know his name as a buddy of mine sent me a stamped image quite a while ago!  The sentiments are both retired from TAC, and the uber-awesome batty fence is a MS border punch.
I've actually had this cutie colored up for a couple of months now.  Yeah.  I know.  How bad does THAT suck?  It took me longer to cut him out than to color him :)  I think he could be zombie-ish... but not as zombie-ish as Creepy G's card from yesterday... effing fantastic!
I must say that I love my Macabre Minions.  They have totally taken over so many of the duties here while I'm working... thanks guys!  Without you there wouldn't be an HDH challenge :)

Wicked Wednesday!!!!

Welcome! Creepy G here for my very first installment of
 "Wicked Wednesday"!
The "Old Masterful One" has allowed me to post
my Macabre Monday DT offerings on Wednesdays, to spice
things up a bit and give you yet another reason to visit
our little slice of hell here on a hump day!

This week's challenge is "My Beloved Monster".

My first card was a bit on the sweet side
(you can check it out here if you dare!),
so I made another card, more fitting for the challenge
and more "Haunted Design House-friendly".

It's no secret that my most beloved of the monsters
is the ZOMBIE!
I loves me some undead!

I went for my new "mottled zombie" coloring technique
and am quite pleased with how the Frankenstein-like image
turned out. I found it on Google images, but I'm not sure of
it's talented artist.
I mounted "her" (see fleshy mound above her left arm)
on black card stock and then onto some red mulberry paper.
I used a photo of an iron fence for the background paper
and that's all she wrote!

Please join us this week for our Macabre Monday challenge.
We have lots of great sponsors lined up in the coming weeks,
including a challenge sponsored by yours truly.
Stay tuned, and you can't win if you don't play!
