HDH055 - Elegantly Evil

Well, kids... this didn't turn out NEARLY elegant or evil enough, but I'm posting it anyway :)  I've been busy planning & designing samples for some upcoming classes I'll be teaching at The Scrapbook Page in Shawnee, Kansas!  Yep, if you are in the Kansas City area, be sure to sign up for my October 11th Eerie Elegant card class & October 19th Halloween Waterfall Mini-Album class.  The Scrapbook Page's newsletter should be coming out soon so you can get more details... and I'll be posting a couple of pics here in the next week or so :)

Anyway, back to today's bit o' Halloweenieness :)  Super simple and no frills.

After heat embossing the image & sentiment, I sponged white ink around them.  A little Stickles adds just the right bit o' bling.

What do you think?

HDH051 - Netherworld Nymphs... by Barb

**If you are looking for Simply Betty's Back to School Emos Blog Hop,
please scroll down to next post!**

Can you believe it... I made it just under the wire!  The Queen of Procrastination strikes again.  I should have already had next week's card done by now... HAAAA HAAA... yeah right.

This little nymph image is from Stamp It Crazy... which is still one of my absolute faves.  I squeezed her onto a regular A2 sized card... she really needs a little more space though... no room for foof.

That ribbon is about a 100 million years old and is some cheap crap from Target $1 spot or something.  But, the color was perfect... though the bow won't poof up because it's kinda crispy feeling ;)  So I topped it with another GlowSkullz embellie.

Stamps:  MS182 LG Gothic w/ Branch Wings (Stamp It Crazy), Thinking of You (TAC)
Paper:  Bazzill and Neenah cardstocks
Other:  Scor-Bug, Tim Holtz edge die, GlowSkullz, cheap a$$ ribbon
Copics:  0, BV20, BV23, G12, G21, G24, G85, V93, V95, V99

Look, Oz... Barbi-dots just for you :)

Deal with it...

My mojo is missing... still... WTF?!!  I am hoping to "stamp out of it" this weekend, but I just don't know.

Soooooooo, the only thing I have for your viewing pleasure is this super CAS card.  The attitude in the sentiment is a PERFECT affirmation for me to get creative... no?

Stamps:  BeBoop Gothing Wings (Stamp It Crazy), Sassy Girls (Missy B's)
Paper:  Bazzill, white ultrasmooth & black cardstocks (TAC)
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo
Other:  MS border punch, Tim Holtz edge die, circle punches
Copics:  0, RV10, RV13, RV14, G12, G24, G85, YR20, YR23, YR24, V99

And this card isn't even vintage for my OWN freakin' HDH challenge?!!  Hmmmmm...
...well, at least I can enter this over at BBCS for their "Anything Goes" challenge :)

HDH039 - Devious Doctors & Fiendish Florence Nightingales

HDH Macabre Monday Rules:
1. Create a dark and macabre SOMETHING (card, scrap page, altered item, whatever) that follows the specific Macabre Monday challenge given. Cutesy is fine, but creepy is better :)
2. You have until the following Sunday night @ 5pm central time to post your creation and please leave a direct-link back here.
3. If you upload to any online galleries (TACPCC, S&S, PCP, SCS, etc.), please tag the title using HDH039.
4. Weekly giveaways!  Some weeks will be loaded with loot, others not-so-much... but the thrill is in the win, right?!  Some prizes shall be by random drawing, others hand picked... and I'm not telling you ahead of time :)
5. I'll be selecting a weekly Gruesome Twosome (my top two favorite creations) from all the players. At the end of every month these will be compiled and a Master of Macabre will be selected. He/she will be asked to be a guest blogger for the following month, if they so wish, and receive a little giftie from me... this could be stamp sets, handmade items, papers, halloweenie embellishments... you just never know.

Ok, my little pretties... your challenge this week:
Devious Doctors & Fiendish Florence Nightingales

You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween page, project or card using images and/or sentiments of demented doctors, MD's of mayhem, nasty nurses, or psychotic psychiatrists.
This fabulous challenge has been created by one of our very own Gruesome Twosome Mistresses, OZ!  After a recent up close and personal visit, she has a wonderful outlook on our medical people :)  From Oz:
"Devious Doctors and Nasty Nurses!!!   That smirk just before they stick that HUGE A$$ED needle in your arm could scare ya to death iffin the bed pan don't kill ya first!!"
I, being the loser that I am, have NOT done the challenge yet!  And I don't have ANY idea what to create... I KNOW I don't have any Dr./Nurse stuff... hmmmmm...

What do you think...
are you up for the challenge?!

Hostess Club Night & a Halloweenie Treatie...

I just got home from a trip to the stylist, and I almost feel human again... now that I have short hair, I swear it grows twice as fast... and those pesky grays mixed with dark brunette is just NOT me!! :) The crazy orange-red is much more in sync with my personality [insert raised eyebrow and sheepish grin here].

I don't know what happened, but I swear my calendar blew up and I have had ZERO creative time! I am so bummed. At least the hubby FINALLY hauled all of my Halloween stuff up (well most of it... he did miss two of the COOLEST things and he'll have to fix that soon!). OH! There's the garage door opener... maybe he'll grab the last goodies now!! [another raised eyebrow] Yes, he is, but he is not happy about it... poor Poot...

[me screaming: "Love you... big kiss!!"]

One of the COOL things is the awesome witch hat in the first photo... definitely one of my favorite purchases last year.

Anyway, my Hostess Club ladies were here last night and they re-created my Batty Moon coaster project. My photo really sucks, but they turned out great in real life!

And, as a bonus, Julie made everyone a little Halloweenie treatie! Last month I showed them how to do the sour cream containers from the SCS tutorial, and everyone loved them... Julie even bought a crimper so she could do more (as did Cindy). I really like it when people get excited about a project... it makes me feel like I actually contributed something!

I'm crossing my fingers that I'll get to work on something tomorrow night. My Saturday is TOTALLY BOOKED with Shriner activities because it's Fall Ceremonial. I will be going to the Ladies' Luncheon with my mom, which is always nice, at one of the MANY country clubs in KC (what is it about golf... I just don't get it). There is always a large turnout for the luncheon, and I'll get to see some faces that I haven't in awhile [I've been a very bad Shrine Lady this year... not going to many functions, etc.: bad bad bad].

Side note: I've had a couple of people ask me how I make my seasoned olive oil, so I'll share that next time, too!

Mojo returneth?

I think I got a little of it back late last night.
From the first moment I saw the Fresh Air Favorites stamp set, I knew I had to have it for Halloween... yes, I know *freak*. There are a couple of images in there that really look like you could creep-them-out with just the right color palette:

Stamps: Fresh Air Favorites, Boo! GWP, From the Heart GWP
Paper: DCWV purple, Bazzill Mono Yellow-Greens, black & white c.s.
Ink: Noir Palette, Moonlight White Brilliance
Other: edge distresser, paper piercer, pop dots, sanding block

I really like this one. It's almost got a creepy-elegance to it?! The second photo is more true-to-life colors.

Have you seen my mojo... it seems to be missing...

Ok. A little warning here. My mojo is missing and I don't know where it could be. I shut myself in my studio last night and this is all I could muster. Also, the lighting stinks right now because it is rainy, so the photos look yellow from my dining room light. Ick.
It is supposed to be one of those illusion-type-things where the smaller individual stamps aren't supposed to be the focus, but the overall picture is what you're after. Does that make sense? I had these scrap pieces of Bazzill Monochromatics and had already cut out these cool scallop cards with my Nestibilities, and decided to put them together.

Stamps: Running Stitches (eyebrows & forehead), Mini Occasions (cat/eyes, pumpkins), All Season Swirls (hat/nose), Boo Bash (sentiment/teeth), So Splattered
Paper: Bazzill Monochromatics (Violets & Yellow-Oranges), black cardstock
Ink: Noir Palette, Brilliance Moonlight White
Other: Nestibilities, Fantastix (for shading), pop dot, foam tape, hydra sponge

Yes, I know... very creepy... but other than that, what do you think? Did I at least get the illusion working?
