SBS Jude & the Rockers Preview Day 1...

This new Jude & the Rockers line from Simply Betty Stamps will be available only in Clear Stamp form. Their official release is Friday, July 1st along with a re-launch of SBS's weekly challenges over at Simply Betty Challenges! One week will be dedicated to card makers and the other week to scrapbookers, altered art lovers, and everything else! I do hope you will join us for the fun!

So, on to today's preview... Jude!

How kickin' is he?! So cute... and I just love that hair :) I used a little May Arts webbie trim and the clip is from We R. The paper is from the Old School line of paper from a company that I can't remember :) It's one of the big ones, though.

Anyway, this little guy was a blast to color with his slouchy pants and that spiked 'do... he DOES rock :)

Be sure to pop over to the Simply Betty Stamps main blog to see what the rest of the DT did with this cutie...

and then tune in every day this week for a new image preview!

SBS Burton 'Weenies Preview Day 5... Harley

Day 5 of previews for a new line of Simply Betty Stamps images... The Burton 'Weenies.  You'll have a chance to win these great images as clear stamps... just hop over to The Burtonesque Dolls blog for all of the details!

Today's you get a double whammy... Jack Jack & Harley:

This duo of doom was just begging to be Halloweenied-out.  I dug out my old Basic Grey Eerie 6x6 paper pad and found this loverly orange skully paper... LOVE!

I die-cut the image panel with a Nestie label die & then free-hand cut the black mat... holy shee-ite that took awhile to get just right :P  The sentiment is from a retired TAC sentiment set.  I even used up a scrap of ribbon and finished it all off with a little black twine.  Their hair looks awesome in person, but you can't really tell in these photos.  Trust me >:)

Tomorrow is the final day with my FAVORITE image and card of the entire line... and don't forget to pop by TBD blog for all of the details, and to see the DT's work!

What do you think?

Upcoming class at the LSS and a little Pleasure & Pain...

Yep... pimping myself out once again :)  I just can't help myself.  At least I won't be writing a lot for this post... I'll just load her up with pictures, cool?  I'm gonna use these as my Pleasure & Pain entry as well:
Pleasures:  Copic coloring, pop dots (I'm addicted), GlowSkullz, rubber stamps
Pains:  figuring costing, material spreadsheet & writing class instructions (ugh!!!!)
I know... I'm stretching it, but I can because I am the Masterful Mistress of the Macabre.  :P

Sorry I can't divulge the recipes for these... you've gotta attend the class to get them... sucka!  And the class is full AND it's next week.  BUT you can still take it if you bring your own Copics... just call The Scrapbook Page :)  I will say that the stamps are from Simply Betty Stamps {shhhhh}.

SBS 50's Emos Preview Day 5

Here's one for the guys!  Can't you just hear "Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey" in the background?!

50's Emo Christian:

Yep.  I went pretty traditional with this one ;)  Although, I did sneak an extra skully in there... I couldn't help it.  LOVE the shoes!  I went a little darker on the skin tone shadow (E13) and me likey!

And was hair THE thing in the 50's?  Me thinks yes.  However, this guy doesn't have that duck-butt-'do... sorry, I keep flashing back to "Grease" :)  And, yes, I had to add the blue streak in his hair... he IS an EMO after all.

Tomorrow is Release Day!  And just wait until you see what I "cooked" up for you >:)
Don't forget to stop by the Simply Betty Stamps blog to see what the rest of the DT has been up to!

card recipe:
image:  50's Emo Christian (SBS)
rubber stamp sentiment:  Sweet Goodies (TAC)
paper:  Little Yellow Bicycle Booville, Bazzill & Neenah cardstocks
other:  Copic Markers, misc. skull trim

SBS Teen Scene - Release Day!

It's finally here :)  The Simply Betty Stamps DT girls are doing a little hop to show off the last of the new Teen Scene rubber stamp images!  So, if you've arrived from Guest DT Lisa's blog, then you are on the right track... if not, be sure to start at the Simply Betty Stamps blog for details on how to get these awesome images at a discount... or even FREE!

Today we're showcasing Teen Scene Chaos & Christian:

Gotta love that little lizard hangin' off of the skateboard!

This image is perfect for a tween, teenager, young adult... or if your man is like mine:  eternal kid-at-heart kinda guy :)

And check it... I used yet another of Creepy Glowbugg's GlowSkullz!!  I just love those little things :)  A little MS edge punch action, a retired TAC sentiment stamp, Copic markers, Neenah & Bazzill cardstocks, and some fun paper from my stash and it's a wrap.

Your next stop on this Teen Scene creative ride is Carla!  Be sure to hop by everyone's blogs... there is so much creativity & inspiration :)

***edited to add:  since Blogger went all funky for the last day & half or so, please note that some of the DT's blogs may not be adjusted.  We're hoping everyone gets posted by 8pm central time :)

A big THANKS and Alas, Poor Yorick... ala Barb

Thanks so much to everyone for their wonderful birthday wishes!  And even though I commented on the Minions blogs, I want to thank them here, too... you guys are awesome!  Not just because of the fantabulousness that has been retrieved from my mailbox as of late (which IS pretty effing awesome by the way), but for all the inspiration you guys give me and to all of our readers here at HDH!

So here is my warm-fuzzy moment:
You are the dank to my dungeon, the ooze to my swamp, and the screams to my banshees :)
Love ya' ghouls!

And now, back to our regularly scheduled post:

After seeing what the Macabre Minions created for this week's challenge, I don't know if I should even post my puny little card... wasn't Creepy Glowbugg's mask effing awesome?! And what about Lynx's skully goodness?  I'd like to put in my request for my very own glow-in-the-dark eyeball please :) Thanks.

Well. Here it is. My no-layer card! Yep... that's right. Only the kraft card base & ink, baby:

Stamps: skulls (Artful Illusions), sentiment (Smeared Ink), splotches (something from JoAnn's... cling mount)
Other: Copic markers

Still a couple more days to play along with this week's Macabre Monday Challenge #HDH080!! $20 voucher to Creepy Glowbugg's Etsy store is up for grabs!!!

3.13.2011

Just for the fun of it...

This card has been done for a while and I just never posted it:

Daniel Torrente's "Kitty" & "Eric" from Stampotique.  This card has no foof... not much of anything really.  A little Scor-Bug action and some Copics... that's it.

Doesn't Eric's shirt remind you of Captain Kirk's from Star Trek? :)  And I can't believe I colored his skin so close to the background color... it looks like I used lavender cardstock on him, right?

Here kitty kitty kitty... he looks a little worse-for-wear doesn't he?

Just a bit of Sunday fun.  Hope your weekend was a good one!

SBS Challenge: Let's Celebrate!

Yep, it's Friday, so it's time for another Simply Betty Stamps Challenge!
Our challenge is using any SBS image: anything Birthday of course!  Three lucky winners will be chosen to receive TWO Sweet Gothic Kids Rubber Stamps (the link is for the digi listing, but you can see the images!).  For exact details and the challenge linky, please go to the
SBS Challenge blog.

Now, my project today is actually a gift bag hang tag... and it's a biggie :)  Probably about 9" tall me thinks.  BUT I was trying to use up scraps without having to cut much... I'm lazy like that sometimes ;)  What is nice is that this also qualifies for my HDH MACABRE MONDAY Body Bags & Toe Tags challenge for this week!  Yeah, I KNOW... I got to play along after all :)

This is Alex... my favorite of the SGK Birthday images... I can't wait for you to see the Easter ones.
O.M.G. Becky... they are sooooo cute!  But you'll just have to way a week or so for those

{insert sinister laugh here}

Digi (and now rubber!):  Sweet Gothic World Kids - Birthday Alex
Rubber stamps (The Angel Company):  Background Soup, Great Greetings
Paper Caboodle white, DCWV purple & grey cardstocks
Ink Palette Noir
Other Bat Nesties, black ribbon, Tim Holtz & Cuttlebug embossing folders,
GlowSkullz, Copic markers

And come back a little later this morning around 8 or 9am... there is more fun to be had ;)

Kenny K's - Maggie Mayhem & a camera question...

Check it.  This is a just-for-fun card I finished the other day.  Not for classes, not for DT, not for Christmas... just for the hell of it.  Ahhhh.  Cardmaking for the sheer joy... can ya' feel it?!

And since I suck at the whole photo-taking thing, I thought I would show you the difference from my scanner vs. camera.  Let's just say that in real life, the image color is actually in-between these two representations.

{photo shot with camera}
Awhile back, Kenny K had a contest to name his newest digi line, Krash Kittenz... and one of my names was selected!  Yeay!  This is Maggie Mayhem... VERY fitting name me thinks :)

{scanner version}
 I'm trying out the Latina-esque / sun-kissed skin tone with Copics E11, E13 & E15.  The jacket & shoes:  N1, N4, N7.  Reds:  R59, R29, R24.  Hair:  E21, E25, E29.

{photo shot with camera}
The trim is some pleather belt-ish stuff I found at JoAnn's, along with the black rose trim.  The paper & "beware" are from a Halloweenie MS paper pack... yeah, Martha can rock the paper once in awhile.  I added a touch o' shimmer to her bandanna, armlet, & necklace with a Stardust glitter pen.

{scanner version}
My camera is just a Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ5... nothing fancy.  Something that can fit into my purse.  I'm thinking of getting a "real" camera sometime this year and I need to know what to get.  I am NOT a photographer-type person.  I don't want to have to read an encyclopedia in order to use a camera, and I'm too lazy to have to manually focus a shot.  Sooooooo... any suggestions?  Please leave a comment or email me at my address in my sidebar.

So.  What do you think of Maggie?

Simply Betty Stamps - Sweet Gothic World Kids Release!

Surprise!  Simply Betty has a houseful of birthdays this month, so she wanted to release a new par-tay line of images!  Que Sweet Gothic World Kids :)

Betty has commissioned a new artist for this release... you can find out more by going to the Simply Betty Challenge blog.  Until then, here is the whole line:
Judy, Sally, Wednesday, Tilly, Alex, and Scott
Cute, right?  But, if you will notice the touch o' Gothiness... skully party hat, batty balloon, skully barrettes, faces with attitude... my kinda cute.

I decided to work with Wednesday & Alex... for obvious reasons :)  There are so many snarky sentiments that I will be able to pair with these two, no?!

I tried to make the top of her dress/sleeves & a bit of her tulle skirt look sheer... did it work?  I probably should have darkened them up just a wee bit more.  And I do NOT like how her hair turned out.  Practice practice practice... ugh.

For Wednesday, I tried a darker skin tone than I normally use... kinda Latina-ish, maybe?  I need more practice with it because the blush is DEFINITELY off.  The sentiment is PERFECT for this card... just sayin' :)  It's one by The Angel Company called Great Greetings.

Next up, Alex:
The look on his face cracks me up. :)  Not really in the party mode, me thinks.  How do you like the sentiment?  It should be read with very little gusto... and perhaps a tinge of annoyance.  :)

And isn't it nice that he is color coordinated with his giftie?  :)

I decided to go through my embellishments and try to use some oldies but goodies.  I have a tough time with guy cards... no ribbon or foof... so these Karen Foster brads & the Scor-Bug did the trick.

Well, that's it for today.  I've been so tired lately, so these aren't the most fantabulous of cards, but I don't hide much from you guys :)  Don't forget to check out the rest of the DT's wonderful work over at the SBC blog!!

What do you think?

Simply Betty Double Whammy Blog Hop!

Have I told y'all lately how much I LOVE this time of year?  Huh?  Have I?  You know, when all of the Halloweenie goodness starts showing up in magazines, store shelves, and of course in rubber stamps & digi's?!!!!
Can you say:  HELL-to-the-YEAH!  :)

And Betty, being my Halloweenie Soul Sistah, is making me smile even more... she's releasing TWO new Halloween-themed digi/stamp lines today, with MORE coming soon!  That's what I'm talkin' 'bout.  Today's new lines from Simply Betty Stamps are:

(note:  please click on photos for clearer view... Blogger is sucking the life out them here...)
First up, this is Peter... buddy of Jude, and just as ca-yoot as can be!  And you know I usually try to creep-out any cuteness... well, I just couldn't do it.  I KNOW!  Am I getting soft?  WTH?  :)
Peter is colored a la Copics, but I forget which ones I used... my bad.  I used a Tim Holtz texture folder, Neenah & TAC cardstocks, VersaFine Onyx ink, & a retired alphabet stamp set from TAC.

Next up, Punky Teen Tootsie!  Freakin' adorable, but I didn't feel bad at all giving her green skin and purple hair... that's just how I roll.

More Copics, Tim Holtz edge die, Delightfully Spooky stamp set (TAC), VersaFine Onyx ink, PTI canvas texture plate, purple rhinestones, Bo Bunny paper(?), misc. ribbon; Bazzill, Neenah & TAC cardstocks.

And finally, my FAVORITE of the entire release :)  Punky Teen Freddy!  I'm sure you can tell why, right?  How fun is this?!  I tried to icky-up his face a bit, but OBVIOUSLY it does no justice whatsoever to the real Freddy... just sayin'.

Copics, Studio G rubber stamp sentiment, Background Soup rubber stamp (TAC), Moulin Rouge Palette ink, VersaFine Onyx ink, Stardust clear glitter pen, Neenah & TAC cardstocks.

Now, more on this Double Whammy Blog Hop... if you've arrived here from the SBS blog, you are on the right track!
To continue on your merry way, you should head off to SBS's September Guest DT's blog:  Calie!

Four lucky winners will receive three free digis of their choice from these two lines! All you have to do is leave us some loving on the Simply Betty Stamps blog! Of course it is always appreciated when you leave everyone a little lovin', however the four winners will be chosen from the Simply Betty Stamps blog!  Have fun hoppin'!
