Fiendishly Fun Friday - Lusciously macabre heart cake!

I spotted these after seeing Croms mention a book called "A Zombie Ate My Cupcake!" by Lily Vanilli. Of course I had to investigate and I found these WONDERFULLY gruesome Bleeding Heart Cakes! Thanks Helen! :D
Want to send your Valentine something sweet that they won't forget in a hurry? I think you've found your answer :P They're made with a red velvet sponge, cream cheese frosting and blackcurrant & cherry 'blood'. Is your mouth watering? You can see all the details, and a music video that features the cakes, HERE. And if you live near London, you can buy other sweet goodies made by this artist in Harrod's Food Hall. Lily Vanilli is her name, and I just LOVE LOVE LOVE her work :D

SBC 12 Days of Christmas... Day 8

Over at Simply Betty Challenges, there is an AWESOME challenge going on... ONLY UNTIL Dec. 11th at 11:00PM PST!  Now... many of us wait until the 25th for Santa Claus to come to town... but today SANDY CLAWS is coming instead! Or well he has actually arrived! All you have to do is create your version of Sandy Claws on your projects! You will win two very special digis... these digis are going to be exclusive to the DT, a few winners, and as a free set in the future with your purchase at SBS! You do not have to purchase a new SBS image, just get those creative gears turning and create your Sandy Claws project with any SBS image!

Be sure to check out all the details at the Simply Betty Challenges blog!!

The DT was fortunate enough to be able to work with this fabulous new image created by our very own Cheri!  I will apologize for the icky photos... they were taken late at night under the OTT light... ugh.

Isn't he awesome?!  Not what I did with it, I mean the image itself!  LOVE IT!  And how festive is he?!

The sentiment is from a retired TAC set, All Things Christmas, but I use it over and over again :)  It's VERY versatile, no?  The snowflakes in VersaMark are from TAC's Vintage Santa.  A little May Arts webby trim & some Eyelet Outlet brads finish this baby off.

Don't forget... you've only got ONE day to play along with this challenge over at SBC!!  Good luck!

TI & SBS Trick or Treat Blog Hop

Two great companies, one awesome hop :)  Christy & Betty just happen to be BIG Halloween fans, so guess what...  Yep, Tiddly Inks & Simply Betty Stamps decided to do a little swap hop... the TI DT worked with Simply Betty images, and the SBS gals got to play with Tiddly Inks images.  Should be fun!

What's even better is that this hop will involve you, too!  Yes, you can do a little Trick or Treating with us and maybe score some gift vouchers to Tiddly Inks or Simply Betty Stamps!  How?  Simply go check out Christy's blog for all of the details... she's the one that is gonna kick this hop off :)  And if you've arrived from Angela's blog, you are on the right track!

Now, here's the little twist to this hop, we were to create a Trick (a favorite technique) or a Treat (just a project to share).  Well, I'm usually a trickster, but I decided to just go for the treat this time :)
I worked with TI's Betty Belfrey... isn't she freakin' adorable!?  She was so fun to color.  And for some reason I was kinda in a scrappy mood... so I just kept layering... pop dots are my friends :)

Digi:  Betty Belfrey (Tiddly Inks);  Rubber stamp:  Boo! (retired TAC);  Paper:  Icky from Heebie Jeebies (WRMK), flocked dot (Hobby Lobby), Penelope & Caboodle white cs;  Other:  Copic markers, VersaFine Onyx ink, iron fence punch (MS), bat & webbed trims (May Arts), moon transparency (MM), pumpkin brad (OTC)

I fussy-cut the 6x6 Heebie frame and glued it to a slightly smaller white card base.  Love the shape and that image just makes me smile.
:)
See?

Well, off you go to Catherine's blog for more Tricks or Treats :)
Enjoy the hop and I hope your Halloween is frightfully fun!

Fiendishly Fun Friday - Sedlec Ossuary

The Cemetary Church of All Saints is a snall Roman Catholic Church in Sedlec, in the Czech Replublic. It's several centuries old, and beneath it lies the Sedlec Ossuary. An ossuary is a place where human remains are stored, sans coffins, to save space when they've been buried for a long time. So, why am I telling you about this one in particular? Sure, any place where they store humain bones MIGHT be worthy of a Fiendishly Fun Friday post, at a stretch. But, this one is special.

In the 13th century, an abbott returned from the Holy Land and sprinkled a small amount of earth that he'd taken from Golgotha over the abbey cemetary. This made the graveyard a highly desirable final resting place, and people from all over Europe would request to be buried there. The cemetary has been expanded, but with centuries of bones, the older ones ended up having to be stored in am ossuary. Again, it's all mildly interesting, but not really worthy of a Fiendish Friday post, right?

Well, here's where it gets fabulous. In 1870, František Rint was hired to put the heaps of bones in some kind of order. Did he just straighten them up and tidy them away? Oh my goodness, no! He decorated the entire place with pieces made from human bones. That chandelier above? It was made from at least one of every single bone in the human body. The hanging mitre sculpture above that? Yup, same again, it's all human bones. Every beautiful piece in this post was created from human bones!

Fiendishly Fun Friday - darkly humourous

I found a couple of pieces of artwork that I'd like to share with you today.

This first one is by black-head, and can be downloaded from his/her pages on DeviantArt

And this second one is by Aleksandra Marchocka, and you can see her work at Behance

This final beauty I can't give proper credits for, obviously there is a signature, but I'm having trouble reading the surname, and my guesses havn't turned up anything. I found the image here.

Fiendishly Fun Friday - What's in your bag?

Lol, I love this suitcase sticker, available from TheCheeky.com. Here's the official blurb from the company
Take a stand against monotonous travel with Suitcase Stickers. Designed to stick to anything, they will draw attention to your bag making it easily identifiable and sure to make you some new friends.

Caution: Some of these stickers may cause offense to airport and immigration staff. But you would have figured that out whilst enjoying those cavity searches.

Fiendishly Fun Friday - What are you eating?????

I'm so sorry I forgot to post this earlier (Donna, did you manage to actually get through breakfast without being creeped out? :P)
Well, maybe I can get you in time for dinner?

I'm so sorry I forgot to post this earlier (Donna, did you manage to actually get through breakfast without being creeped out? :P)
Well, maybe I can get you in time for dinner?

These are described as Cajun Turtle Burgers, although they're hot dogs, minced beef and bacon. Sounds so delicious, looks so wrong! I do eat meat, but I like it to look much less like a dead animal by the time it gets to my plate :P

For this one, I really wasn't sure whether to post the pictures or not. However much I tell my self that it's an ice-lolly, there's something horrific about the way it looks. So, before you click, these are NOT guns, they're ice lollies. Keep repeating that as you look :P
Ice Lolly Guns

And this one I'm not posting the picture for because frankly, it makes me feel sick. :P You have been warned! Deep-fried spiders

Fiendishly Fun Friday - Cupcakes and knitting and dolls, oh my!

This makes me smile so much - the Dark Side is taking over the whole of the crafting world, Bwahahahahahahah!
I found this first lot on Slightly Warped, but there are no credits given, so we can't all give praise to whichever fiendish soul created these little beauties :(

But these little beauties I can give credit for, we should all bow down before xsomnis, who has these pics up at her Flickr account

And last but definitely not least, we have dollmaker cArNiVaLiTy, who creates these awesomely creepy dolls. You can see her Flickr album HERE and her Etsy shop HERE

Fiendishly Fun Friday - Happy Tree Friends

Allow me to introduce you Happy Tree Friends, and don't worry, this won't be disturbing for all you cute-o-phobes out there, the cute in this is definitely balanced out :P It's not entirely necessary to have the sound on as you watch, but without it you'll miss the psychotically cheerful theme tune, which I love ;)
And, LOL, if it's any consolation, I've had the theme tune stuck in my head as well :P One, two, three, altogether now . . .

Fiendishly Fun Friday - It hurts . . .

Ok, not really so creepy, but it made me smile :) Originally found HERE

Fiendishly Fun Friday - Burtonesque furniture

I swear Vincent Leman channels Tim Burton's brainwaves for these little treasures!  Be sure to click on the link to see more of Leman's lovelies :)

Fiendishly Fun Friday - more killer pumps

Ok, let me just preface this with the fact that though I love the look of  killer stilettos, no way could I wear them.  My pudgy peds prefer running shoes & Sketchers... just sayin'.  :)  But I stumbled across THIS post that showcased these beauties:

This lovely acrylic tarantula number... uh, eww.

And how about this?  Kinda looks like a hooker robot pump, right?!  :)

I hope your Friday is Fiendishly Fun!!

He's being the whole of KISS, lol, I missed that reference until you all commented :P
